I will stand to agree with you on the fact that their streaming library isn't poor per se, but when I pay for a service such as that, I shouldn't be exhausted with the 'mainstream titles' as quickly as I have been. Maybe I don't watch enough to tv on there or something (Though I managed to eclipse my data cap for internet this month, thanks netflix!) but $7.99 is what I already pay, why would I want to pay twice as much just retain my services. Don't get me wrong, it's whatever to me either way, but their selection isn't great, hell, I wouldn't even call it good. A majority of movies I watch aren't super popular so it's not like I'm just enjoying A list movies and complaining they don't have more of those.
I just guess that in a system where you take something away that has been the standard since it was introduced and replace it with something more expensive, less rewarding, and sometimes more bothersome than the other (streaming/dvds), you're going to cause a lot of turmoil within your client base. I am a businessman like you and believe me when I say the price that they just introduced would have been something I would have signed up for at the beginning, though now that they've had it for as long as they have I find the business tactic to be somewhat more shady than it is business directed. Sure people rape the f*** out of the streaming (like I) and sure some people rent crazy amounts of dvds a month, but price jumping me that far all at once doesn't seem as good of a solution as there could be.

I apologize, it's just been a s***ty night at school where the professor wouldn't listen to a damn thing, so I felt like making my point be known.
