^^I've had great luck with redbox. They always have something that interests me in stock, and I've never had any skipping.

As far as Crackle goes. I've had this on my iPhone for a while now. It's cool when you're bored, waiting for someone / something.
Maybe it's just the area I'm in.

Ive played around with Crackle but not as much as Netflix on my iPhone or XBOX 360. Im not happy about the rate increase but at the same time it really breaks down to me paying an extra $5....seriously its only 5 bucks. How many ppl on this board play some sort of MMO with a monthly subscribtion? Im sure its most of you and those usually run about $15 a month. Its not unreasonable to think that a company might want to make more money (the most likely reason... greedy bas-turds) or that they may be increasing servers in which to stream from or space to house yet more DVD/Blu Ray's. Either way if you really hate it then the only solution is to cancel your account.

As far as Redbox goes... I have 4 of them all with in a 1/2 mile radius from my house. I use the iPhone App to check for availablity before I head out. With the app you can reserve whatever you want and Ive gotten free rentals in the past for using it. I love to see the look on someone's face when I get the movie they want but was told by the machine that they were out of stock at the moment! LOL. It always reminds me of that scene in Clerks where Randal bets the woman he will get the movie before she does and then opens the store in front of her!

Here is my problem with the new Netflix and their charges. I have been a member since 2003. I have the 2 movies + unlimited streaming and am paying $14.99. In september, that is going to go up to $19.98 if I want to keep my current plan. They are going to charge $7.99 for streaming and $11.99 for 2 movies. That is what...a 40% increase?

I understand them wanting to split up the plans to help those that don't want streaming or don't want dvd by mail. What I personally think they should do, is cut a discount for those that are doing the package deal. That and I guess loyalty doesn't mean s**t to them as they didn't even ask, they are just going to charge it. Loyal for 8 years and am seriously debating dropping it all together.

Another problem that I have is that they cut deals with the release companies and hold movies for a month sometimes after it has been released on dvd in exchange for more streaming content. Sad thing is, the streaming content isn't all that great.

I don't understand the whole problem with it. I only have streaming and I haven't found much that I've wanted to watch that wasn't streaming. People complain about the selection on streaming, but let's be honest, their selection for streaming isn't bad at all. Sounds like people are just trying to find a way to b**** and complain.
I will stand to agree with you on the fact that their streaming library isn't poor per se, but when I pay for a service such as that, I shouldn't be exhausted with the 'mainstream titles' as quickly as I have been. Maybe I don't watch enough to tv on there or something (Though I managed to eclipse my data cap for internet this month, thanks netflix!) but $7.99 is what I already pay, why would I want to pay twice as much just retain my services. Don't get me wrong, it's whatever to me either way, but their selection isn't great, hell, I wouldn't even call it good. A majority of movies I watch aren't super popular so it's not like I'm just enjoying A list movies and complaining they don't have more of those.

I just guess that in a system where you take something away that has been the standard since it was introduced and replace it with something more expensive, less rewarding, and sometimes more bothersome than the other (streaming/dvds), you're going to cause a lot of turmoil within your client base. I am a businessman like you and believe me when I say the price that they just introduced would have been something I would have signed up for at the beginning, though now that they've had it for as long as they have I find the business tactic to be somewhat more shady than it is business directed. Sure people rape the f**k out of the streaming (like I) and sure some people rent crazy amounts of dvds a month, but price jumping me that far all at once doesn't seem as good of a solution as there could be.

I apologize, it's just been a shitty night at school where the professor wouldn't listen to a damn thing, so I felt like making my point be known.

So I think we should all pool some money together to buy some dvds, host a server, upload them all, and then rent them out PPV style. Then we'll go from charging like ¢0.99 and jack up prices to $3.00 a play a little later after we've push out the competition.

Who's in? :D

Seems like pretty bad movies.

I was thinking we'd just break into Netflix's warehouses.

Or we could buy a K5 blazer or something similar and ust go redbox hunting. We'd get video games that way too. :P
