Wow, this is the best build thread on this site I think. So much work done and so much more til it's complete, hope I'm still alive to see the end of it!
well, I'm sure trying. I'm building it for myself, but its sure nice to see people dig what I doing!

wow been looking at this build for awhile and its coming along pretty sick, I love all the custom stuff that youve done to the truck. One question tho, what isn't custom about this truck? lol keep it up
There is not one piece of this truck that hasn't been modified...
That window is gonna have some nice air flow through the truck while your cruising with all of the windows down, should be nice. Sucks that your going to have to find a new motor though, seems like it's almost ready to be started up and just move around the block or something. But I realize that there is still a good bit of work to be done, keep it up man!
Not a new motor for the truck but just a motor for the window lol.

There will be a lot of time and money in getting the actual engine running. I am going to have the whole thing rebuilt and a mild port done also and then everything will come apart and frame powder coated and everything painted and reassembled and ready for my magazine cover lol

Honestly, I never liked the targa top at all. So no go on that lol.

Ya I can weld thick s**t all day, but I'm new to sheetmetal fab, but I'm picking it up.

The bed floor is next. No topper here, but it will have a sheetmetal bed floor eventually.

And its not everyday u hear the word RAD anymore haha!

Trust me, my gas is fine lol.

I guess the camera makes my welds look funny...

I'm running a top of the line 140c lincoln, and my settings are adjusted to spec plus a little heat for where I feel comfortable.

Good penetration plus weaving into the bead. No problems.

But thanks for the heads up!

Lol new kids are like sick ek, eg..Mazda wtf?
I actually get more love on cc than I do on most of the mazda sites.

I guess people just don't appreciate the time and money that goes into making a truck like this...

alright, well obviously i got called out the other night and pretty much havent been home since, but i will post some updates for ya'll!

well, i had to look back a page to see where i last updated since i am so damn tired from work, but i think i can pick up where i left off...

so i decided to cut out the portions of firewall that i had holes in from previously mounting my steering so i can start fresh and not have as much body work to do when it comes that time, so tape a line and cut them b****es out!

god i am just making more work for myself...

so here my purchase that i kept u guys waiting for, and since nobody tried to guess what it was then i guess ill show u anyways...

nobody wants to play along anymore lol. am i that boring?

so heres some 94-99 cadillac deville taillights. i always swore i would never use these tails since they have been done to death on minis and fullsizes alike, but i have a different plan for them... since the toyota rear window was two inches narrower, it left me some free space on the back of the cab wall to something unique( i know what ur thinking, my truck isnt unique enough right?)

so i took some measurements and did some comparisons of the caddy lights and they will flow perfectly well on the back cab. thing is is the caddy tails are meant to be sunk in about 4 inches, so i am going to do some custom work and make them flush mounted. thoughts?

anywho, i think itll look nifty...

you get the idea...

now on to the boring stuff that nobody wants to hear about....

I HAZ A TURBO MANIFOLD!

ok, so he finally came over and everything test fit good! so he is taking it for final tig welding and to mount my wastegate. he promised it would be back in my hands by the end of the week!

and i hope u guys r proud, i actually snapped a few pics this time!!!!!

i am so excited, i am still shaking from seeing it all mocked up! now i can get on finding a new intercooler and figuring out my radiator and all that fun shizzzz!

fitted with intake manifold! yaya ! ! ! ! ! ! !

so now onto fitting the lights and getting the rear cab finished. then i gotta mount my steering and dash. figure out my seat mounting, and get my door panels on and then work on getting everything welded up solid for Sparks in the Ozarks! i am running out of time!

a question regarding safety. i dont know the answer to this, but do lights have to be placed within a specified distance to the rear? like they have to be ON the rear of the truck? i have seen these like you said a lot, i think the location is pretty neat non-the-less. have you looked into the LED lighting systems?

ur tellin me! he was super apologetic and is offereing to buy all the hardware for mounting the turbo and s**t. he just does such good work, i couldnt help but wait for him...

u r totally right. the lights are supposed to be on the rear most point of the vehicle and also have a certian height they must be at. i have been thinking of this, and i may just run a led strip on the rear also, but i dont really care either way. the truck is custom, and isnt going to be daily driven, and probably wont ever be driven at night.
therefore, i am not really worried about it until i get asspacked at a stop sign lol.

dont really have to worry about it anyways since the truck just sits in my garage haha..

and with the led idea-- i was planning on doing led caddy lights at first, but the price is astronomically higher than the oem tails with buckets, so i went with these. plus sometimes i think the led lights are just too damn bright...

idk, its just personal preference i guess...

and thanks for the good comments guys!
