Welcome and I know where a D16Z6 is if you are wanting to do the mini me. It's also in a eg hatch that is being parted out. So if you want any of the parts off the car let me know and I will give you the info.

Mine me is the cheaper option, but to make real power only real options in civics are boost or swap.
How much more power are you talking about??

I wanna do a swap for sure then maybe boost later. I just found a Guy with a shop and he has a del sol with a b16 he said he would install for 2500... it has 90k miles. Good deal?

I agree! I would love to do it... I would rather a B18 vtec or not. I just dont have the equipment to do it and dont really know anyone who does. and yes 2500 includes everything but the shift linkage. He is a certified honda mechanic. Would I be better off with an ls swap? and how hard is it to do? I was gonna do the d16y6 but not enough power. I need more. My other car is a nissan sentra ser spec v so I want this car to be a bit faster

2500 installed for a b16, tranny, mounts, ecu, etc. is actually pretty good I think. Especially with only 90k miles. You won't find another one with that low of miles at least where I'm at. As long as you think the guy is trustworthy I would say go for it. There isn't a huge difference between the b16 and b18 when you are coming from a non-vtec d16.

i thought about building the d and turboing it but the b16 has more potential and i can probably talk him down to 2k if I give him my setup

The motor is from a del sol. What does it mean when it first starts up the rpms fluctuate for about 30-45 seconds then goes to a normal idle?

So the d doesnt have potential. Have you not looked at speedfactory build or the bisimotobuild. All these great d series builds. I guess I should give up on my turbo build and go b series.

I didnt mean the d series didnt have potential. I just dont know what Im doing when it comes to building so for me the b series has more potential. I wouldnt know the first step to building the internals of the motor. I figured this is the easiest method for me.
