cedar rapids iowa. there's a river that runs through the mail part of downtown.

we had a lot of snow that winter then a lot of rainfall and the ground just couldn't hold all the water when the snow finally melted and this was the result.

this is a picture from even further back. couldn't find a higher res of it though.

FINALLY submitted an application to a local grocery store.... Been meaning to for a couple weeks but I kept freakin forgetting. My friend works there and has connections so he's trying to get me in . And you may think "grocery store? really?" but it's actually a VERY good company to work for. My contract is up in April and no extension is possible and they froze hiring so I'm hoping this works out.

Got out of work at 2:30am. blew out the sidewall on my tire at 2:31am. My boy didn't show up to help me until 5am. It is now 5:48am n I just got home. Wtf & fml. Looks like I'm tire shopping at some point today.

I almost ran over a f**king cat on my way to work this morning. Usually you see cats dart across roads and s**t but this thing was taking its sweet ass time. Had to swerve and brake and BARELY missed it. My freakin heart skipped a beat.....

. It's called Wegmans. It started as a small mah and pah store but they've expanded to like over a dozen locations spread across the north east and now they're slowly expanding south. They now also have their own wine shop (which is huge) and restaurant. At least here, not sure about anywhere else. I think it was for Thanksgiving I heard the store in Virginia did over 1 million in sales in one day. That's a lot of freakin money in groceries.

Grocery stores out there SUCK ASS! I was appalled at the lack of selection, and WTF no liquor section? I know Victor was floored about our grocery stores here. They're completely different..
