Now do the continuity tests below to pinpoint the open in the thermal protector or its associated wires.

Current cannot flow from the red wire on the left through the switch to the red wire on the right. The problem could be a broken red wire on the left or right or a bad switch. By testing continuity between various points, you can pinpoint the bad component.

The first step is to pinpoint and fix this^ problem. The second step is to deal with the potential heater control panel problem.

I have two of the head units with the ac defroster and recirculating buttons but only one of the unit with the spin dials that do floor or defroster an fan speed


If you still don't understand I will add photos in a bit

Posting pictures is always best, but again your first order of business is to pinpoint and fix the known open.

Okay so terminal one gets continuity to one wire and term 3 gets
Continuity to one wire in the 3 pin connector remaining term 2 is power to clutch also there is no continuity between the 1 an 3 wires after the connector showing a open switch I believe?

Anyways thermal switch jumped should make my ac work correctly but I am still puzzled by the ac button working in reverse

Is this correct ? If so I should be able to jump the connection and continue testing while I order the new one is this also correct ?

Update i changed the hvac and evacuated the system held vaccun showing no leaks repressured to 40 psi low and 230 high good charge good pressure and bingo ac ice cold worked for the day now tonight it works intermittantly.... It now turns on and off speratlactly and runs for 1 to 5 mins with any intervel of not working. Any ideas ???
