Worked the Hot August Nights car show and picked this bell air as my favorite anyone know the year? <57 I think
Redline is correct. '55 had the short grill where '56-'57 had the full length grill that molds around the front blinkers. That and '57 is almost a completely different bumper and grill set up plus it has the "wing" rear quarter panels.

on my way to work this morning i saw a first-gen impreza pulled over with the hood open. i recognized this car cause its white with green wheels and i pretty much pass it every day, going to and from work. i pulled over to see if they needed help, turns out this hot chick drives it. i asked her if she needed a hand, hoping she'd say yes and then it would be gravy from there. but she was like "na, im good my cars just overheating i need a new t-stat" i literally had no idea what to do after that so i was like okay are you sure? she said no, thanks. and i left lol. i wish i could've thought of something a little more slick to keep her talking.

The same thing happened to me 2 summers ago. Thermo failed and coolant was pouring all over the highway. I pulled over, and a guy did the same thing as you did.
Unfortunately I had to call AAA for a flatbed w/ ramps, and that driver didn't bring the ramps as requested so my car couldn't get on the bed.
He then tells me, and I swear he said this
"your car is overheating b/c it's so low to the ground...no air can cool it off." WTF?!?
................................So the coolant on the ground means nothing?
His answer
"the car got too hot from no air passing, and that's why your car is spilling coolant."
I seriously wanted to beat the s**t out of him at that point. Partly for not listening to me when I insisted I needed ramps for a flatbed, then for being a moron.
