i think that he should visit these kids i mean clearly they think batman is cool and got shot just trying to watch a movie. this is a very specific circumstance where one person in particular (Bale) has the ability to brighten their day. why shouldn't he? because there is a military out there protecting our country? that shouldn't stop him from doing what he can for these people. which he did apparently, not dressed as batman which would have been cooler, but he did and thats not a bad thing.

We have real life superheros standing up for us everyday since this country was founded. It's called our military.
This. The men who serve on the front lines in combat, and the men and women who support them are heros.

I just read more of this thread. Are we really comparing fake superheros, to men and women who put their lives on the line for the rest of us for relatively sh*t pay?

We aren't comparing it's just a different situation. One that someone "fake" can actually do something about

For those that think the actor should visit the wounded, he actualy did it. Just not in the costume. Look it up. Good to see the celeb cares about his movie fans

I wasn't comparing. It's 2 completely different situations. It's like trying to compare apples to oranges.

Can you elucidate please?
Being on a carrier hundreds of miles away from the coast doesn't justify the meaning of heros.

I'm pretty sure I understand where you're going with this. Support roles are obviously not the ones killing the bad guys and saving lives. But they're supporting those who are. Although I have even more respect for those on the front lines and near the front lines, those in support roles deserve respect as well. Without them, our troops on the front lines wouldn't receive supplies such as ammo, fuel, and food, wouldn't have any way to communicate, and their form of transportation would be extremely limited. We need troops on the front line, but we need people to support them as well.

Simple version. Alfred ain't no hero, but without Alfred we wouldn't have Batman.

They supported by going to the theater where they got sprayed, now he can support back by going to the hospital. Make sense.

I only hope he's not doing it as a publicity stunt, and because he actually cares.

I know what you're getting at. But when our squadron was deployed on the carrier, all we did was circles around the pacific. No where near the middle east. We weren't supporting anyone. When the aircraft flew everyday guess what they did. The same thing. I personally don't like it when people say to me "Thank you for your service." I don't tell them anything because I know I didn't do anything. And it's just not me. I know a lot of people who feel the same way.

If it was me in the hospital I would much prefer a visit from Anne Hathaway.

I've actually had people thank me as well, all I say is that I've just signed my name and haven't done anything yet. I leave in September. Shoot me a PM with more details about what branch you did and what your job was and whatnot.

The prominent female character in the new Batman movie. She's not bad looking, not the best looking either though. I will admit she looked damn good in the movie. But let's face it...her on a bad day is still better than Bale on a good day
