I don't remember the exact details but I'm pretty sure cities pitched for it. If you search Google Topeka you can find it, kind of a funny story that goes along with it.

Kelly - I'm not sure exactly how many channels they're going to have, as they haven't released it yet, but I'm sure it'll be comparable to current digital cable (so yes... 800 channels plus HD). It also includes DVR with terabytes worth of space and the capability to record 8 shows at once.

Been following Google Fiber for like, 2 years (when it was first announced). I'm not even a Google fanboy (avid iPhone/Apple user here), but this is legit. I just wish they'd implement it here in CA! Their damned headquarters is here, why not introduce it?

I have 2 laptops, 2 TVs and an Xbox 360 going off my package.
-I have 30mb/s
-wireless
-2 DVR's that record 2 shows at once, and I've currently got 19 different shows programmed into it.
-I have channels 2-879, & every HD channel.

I get all of that for $110. It's $125.16 with tax every month.

I also have an Amazon Prime account, which is WAY better than Netflix IMO, which equates to $6.58/m but it's $79 up front. Unlimited streaming movies, DVD's, shows, games, and free shipping on purchases.

Charter--it's the area provider. It's comparable to Comcast.

I'm on an old promo not offered anymore. They beat U-Verse in the area, and satellite isn't appealing to me.

The promo's are for 12months. I've been on mine for 1.6 years b/c they overcharged me $180 and I bitched and moaned badly.

They credited me only $100, and kept me on the old promo. It expires in Dec.

i tried to get ATT U-Verse but they dont offer it in my area
