1) If you didn't drive anywhere or nobody stole it, it should be there .If not, get a new engine oil cap? only like $10 OEM
2) How's it bent? take a picture

1) Well it fell in my engine bay & I can't see it to take it out.
2) I fixed the rod, bent it back into place ... might to replace it. Not in a rush to though.

Is this for real? You created a thread to help you find your engine oil cap lost in your bay some place? Now THAT is comedy. Ok, here's what you do. Go to your closest auto store and buy a new cap for ~$10. Bring it back to your car, screw it half way on, then un screw it and let it roll off the valve cover. Where it lands will likely be the spot of your missing cap. If that doesn't work, try it again, but maybe give it a little help and push it off the other side. That's how I used to find lost tools when working on commercial jets for Boeing anyway.... That's how everyone does it right?

I'm just going to ignore that guy.

Well it didn't fall through, but I heard it rattle somewhere in the bay. Probably jammed somewhere

He's kinda right though.. You made a thread for something that calls for more of a self-explanatory answer. I don't want to be the one to offend you but it wasn't the brightest move bro. Simple problem, simple fix we can't find the oil cap for you, either buy a new one or look in the engine bay. Civic engine bays are nothing. when you lose a bolt in a subaru impreza, let me know. you don't know how that feels.

x2 Thats how I do it in the USAF if tools get dropped in jets. Tie a string to it too :P

I would imagine the safety wire would get in the way a lot

They didn't bother me, I was an aviation electrician, so at most I was puling boards and I'd take them back to my work station. When I was actually in the hornets, at most I'd need a nut driver. The turbine techs hated the safety wires though lol

Dropped my 710 cap in the engine bay the other day and thought about this thread... I'm still ROTFL about this post (though the OP edited it)! HA... Pure comedy. I wonder if it's still lost or he just gave up and bought another one? ... which is now lost too.... LOL
