Sup everyone. Not new to Honda's really, have owned my DA for the last 10 years. I just recently picked up a 1994 Civic EX sedan for $400 bucks.

Blown head gasket though...

However...

ZC Swap, haha!

Interior is in really decent shape all things considered. Needs a few little pieces, but nothing major. Clean title, does run and drive. Doesn't smoke, but it is in limp mode for whatever reason. Maybe you guys can help me diagnose it. =)

And if anyone wants to see, here's my DA.

Still need to paint the corners of those lights black. And the reason I went with EbayDM lights instead of OE Stanley pcs, is this.

TRS Mini H1 Bi-Xenon retrofit. I can't stand having poor light output.

Engine

Thanks for looking everyone. Glad to be on the site.

Thanks guys. Anyone know some of the main reasons why it might be in Limp Mode? It's throwing a CEL, and I don't know where the connector is to jump to make the CEL flash the code. I'm used to OBD-0's, lol.

Thanks for the feedback guys. But yea, where on the wires from the ECU do I bridge the two together so it blinks the CEL code on the CEL in the cluster?

And also, since I'm new I'm not sure if I can post anything for sale, but I'm trying to sell some eagle rods with je pistons if anyone's interested, for a B16 though.

Passenger side floor board. Pull the carpet in from the corner and that will expose your service connector. There should be a green wire with a two prong end that goes nowhere. Take a paper clip bent in two, and bam. Jump your service connector :P

Well I pulled the carpet back, and I'm sure it's there, but the car won't run any more. Basically, It was idling fine, then died. Not 'ran out of gas' died, just "bluh," dead. My integra did that when I had an e-bay distributor on it... bad ignitor.

So I'm thinking, since it was running on all four, just weak spark, and the whole limp mode thing. And now I checked, it's getting fuel, it's spraying, but I plugged in a spare spark plug into the #1 and #2 wires and cranked it. No spark. I think the distributor just crapped out on me, and was probably all that was wrong with it to begin with.

He thought the HG was going/or is out, but no coolant in oil and vice versa, and didn't over heat. No white smoke from exhaust, or none really. So what would you guys assume, bad distributor?

I'm not sure if I can still get a code if the car won't turn over, cause with it turned to 'Ignition' it doesn't throw a code.

Thoughts?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well so much for this car. Finally got out all the kinks and really started to like it, and BAM!

Some ass hole hit and ran it 2am Sat morning, probably drunk of his or her ass. Drivers side rear is completely done. I'm sure it could be fixed by a capable body shop, but it's totaled as far as I'm concerned.

Going to try to find a shell somewhere and transfer my powertrain and interior into it, so we'll see how that goes.

North-ish of Spokane.

And yea, tomorrow I guess they're going to take detailed pictures, and come value the car, then what a salvage yard might pay for it, so I'll know how much it's going to cost to buy back plus how much I'm going to get from insurance minus the deductible.

/\ Well if you know, it got totaled.

Good news though! I got another with the insurance money, and even had money left over. Insurance paid out $2,200 or so for the civic, and I bought it back for 530 or so. And here on February 2nd, on my birthday, I went to Cour d'..... Idaho whatever. Can never spell that place. Anyway, got a 2nd owner 93 LX for 900 bucks. He had it for 12 years, and it only has 165K on the clock. Doors, hood/trunk, all close like they were new. It's red, so it obviously needs a good cut and buff.

Only issue is that it had a dead cylinder, which was remedied quickly by swapping in the ZC from my previous sedan. Runs like a champ, and stock as can be. Every little clip, bracket, coolant line holder things, all there. It even came with pretty much new Hankook iPike winter tires as a bonus since they go for like 100 each or something.

I'll get some pics tomorrow.
