Nice video you guy should make the car K powered.
Haha I used to think the same thing when I saw these cars, but trust me the current engine is more than enough. The K wouldn't even fit because the car is so compact.

So I found a guy in PA that is going to be building a B16 for boost and offered to buy my long block. I'm going to be selling that, along with a bunch of my other parts to him once he has the money and I"ll be buying an Hmotors B16! I'm pretty stoked. This is what I should have done in the first place, but I guess you live and you learn...

Thoughts?

Oh and I'll be completely redoing the bay while I'm at it. Not paint, but I have some cool ideas.

my thoughts..........you have learned well my friend. Prepare to not have to worry about a damn thing hahaha. Eat a pizza off of the engine when you get it, although the pizza may be dirtier than the engine.

I would say B for your first swap. It would be a good learning experience and a fun engine, but the complexity and overall cost will be lower. Then you can always go K later down the road.

This is what I plan to do. I just want a b for some powa and then build a k on the side.

i vouch for them. Both of my swaps, jdm b16a and my tsx came from them!
Yeah, I remember reading through your old thread how nice the B16 was. The challenge now will be for me to get the transmission as clean as the motor haha. I'm keeping the trans since mechanically it is sound, but the casing is a different story.

This is what I plan to do. I just want a b for some powa and then build a k on the side.
I think this makes sense for people who are on a budget, but plan to have more funds later on down the road.

What's up guys?

I had some spare time and decided to look for a junk yard near my school since there aren't any near my house. Sure enough, I was in luck. There was one only 5 miles away. Let me just say this now, a 5 mile bike ride is not that easy when you have a backpack full of tools (and parts on the way back) and its up a mountain.

Anyway, here is the view from the junk yard.

I was actually really happy with the junk yard. No admission charge and super cheap prices. There was a good selection of Hondas too.

I picked up a headlight harness, and some ECU plugs. I'm going to reloom my headlight harness so I thought it would be good to start with a fresh one. The ECU pins are just so I can add stuff to my harness when I redo it.

In the same Civic, which was a 98 EX sedan that was literally cut in half behind the front seats, I found this below a pile off all the interior pieces.

There was also a 98 HX with the full 5-speed Y5 swap intact. The owner of the yard only wanted $20 for the engine harness, so I started to remove it, but got stuck when it came to removing the battery tray since I didn't have any sockets with me. Hopefully I can go back and get it because I literally removed all of the harness except where it goes through the firewall.

While I was there, a middle aged farmer came up and started talking to me about cars. I explained VTEC to him and he seemed thoroughly impressed. He said something to the effect of "I never knew these little Hondas had so much kick to them. (imagine a southern accent)"

Nice, I love searching through junkyards!
To be honest with you, this was my first time since there aren't that many close to my house. I loved it though. I would have stayed much longer if I had more tools, didn't have class, and didn't have to take everything home in my backpack haha.
