I didn't use heat of any sort when I did mine. Only rubber mallet and a small ball peen hammer.
But your in Texas so it might have been a hot day when you did yours. I did mines out side in 50 degree temperature. As soon as I hit it with a hammer the paint chipped. I only chipped pain that was on the part of the fender that I was hitting so no visual cosmetic damage lol.

Valve adjustment done. Car is running a lot better and quieter. I also re-position the distributor, I had it a little advanced before.

my paint still chipped just the same, but only where i hit with the hammer. After you get it rolled, you can just feather edge sand the chipped paint, mask off the outside, and lay some paint down inside the wheel well to cover any bare metal.

I don't know if I told you guys but I got two new tires for the front wheels. Falken Ziex 329 touring all seasons. I got them from pep boys last Friday. They were the only tires they had in a 195-55 15. I'm going to order two more to replace the other tires but I'm going to go with the 512 series which is the performance tire. They are 30 bucks cheaper. I'll rock the 329 in the rear and the 512 up front.

I have always really like Falken tires!
So far I like them too. They have very nice grip. My car handle alot better in wet weather. Best part is I only have two of them lol. I'll be buying two more pretty soon.

No updates guys. Moneys all messed up right now. Took a lil weekend vacation with wifey and balled out for our lil anniversary. Looking for a part time job to fund the build so I don't have to deal with the issue of pleasure money and work money effecting one another.
