Just remember it's not a Honda. Be prepared to spend more money for maintenance and upkeep.
Funny you say that. I just billed out parts for a 1984 944 we just finished.
It was broken into. The way they got in was by smashing the rear glass. It also needed an alternator.
Rear glass $6200. (Just the glass. Also needs all the trim around it replaced as it does NOT come with the new glass and almost impossible to remove from the old one without destroying)
Alternator - $800
You need brakes? Rotors need replaced every time you do pads. Porsche brakes are thin and are one time use. No pad slap, no turning. $336 for the rotors and $241 for the pads. No I don't recommend going aftermarket. It's a Porsche.
Water pump goes? $450 + $73 per gallon of coolant. Porsche has their own exclusive coolant. Not something you can get at Walmart and I wouldn't use generic stuff.
I would keep the Honda. 944's no matter how rare the owner thinks it is aren't worth it. It's a 944 ffs! If it were a 356, now we would be onto something. Unless it was a 944 turbo, then maybe.
