Ya you can only do so much and then you have to let it cool.
Took me about three hours to get to where i am.
Chris, not gonna be the bear of bad news but actually you can get a full solid bead, weld 3-5 inch beads, move to the opposite side and keep doing it. I promise you it wont warp. That or get some .023 wire. We weld car fenders back together at school and use .030 wire just fine running 12-15amps. Also crank the gas. It will help!
This would be true if i were welding to the same thickness of metals. But i am calculating bond to the thicker material of the 1x1 square tubing.
I have played with my settings a lot and this is what i have found to work best for me and also all of the research i have done.
I do appreciate your comment though.
And i am using .025 wire.
And i guess i should say thats its not worth the risk for me. I know for a fact i wont warp the metal like this and the penetration i get is sufficient enough for proper strength.

Well third day off in a row.
This almost never happens. So im trying to take advantage and get s**t done.
Its ridiculously hot for this time of year and frankly it sucks working in it but oh well.

you gotta have some kind of time off man cant work every hour of every day i feel though i got my own house a newborn baby mommas out of work atm so we dont have to pay a babysitter so i get all the bills that come with our own place multiple vehicles and a newborn child. Hense the no progress or new parts on the civic lol.

im looking for an anutometer pro comp ultra lite oil pressure gauge since i already have the volt gauge to match it, or buy both volt and oil pressure in another type so they match. If you know of anybody that has them or have them yourself and want to sell them lmk.

Well since i lost motivation...
Guess ill update a bit.
The ol lady left this morning before i could have her help me take the bed out of the garage. So i manned up and carried it out by myself...
Then i did some more welding on the rear cab wall. Then i got bored...
Ive been wanting to finish my firewall, but am trying not to get anymore metal near this engine until i can get a dummy engine in here. But ive also wanted to do something about all of this bare metal. So i decided to sand my fenders and firewall and prime them to protect them a bit.
Well i had white spray primer. Weird, but ive been contemplating painting the bay white so this will give me an idea if i like it or not...
Well its f**king bright. Idk if its bright because its a flat white or what but it stands out like crazy...
And then i lost motivation after i got called for a job tomorrow. But i did get my two packages. One package is still mia from a month ago. Gay but whatever.
I wonder what this could be?
The big boxes are my new bead rolled cab floor. These things are legit!
And the summit box...
The packaging paper was killer!
Tilton floor mount pedal setup.
Now i dont know what to do. Theres a lot i want to do but i dont want to start something and not be able to get it done by the 23rd.
So i guess ill continue to do the little things and get this truck tied together...
