You'd be the guy to ask. Valve adjustment, how do you do it? I stick with the standard valve lash adjustment but someone told me I need to adjust something else with the valves.
I accept your thread jack lol.

You need feeler guages. I like go-no go ones because I'm lazy. But I run .006 on the intake and .007 on the exhaust. You also need to do them in the firing order which is easiest. 1-3-4-2. Each quarter turn of the cam gears is when you move to the next cylinder. You'll need either a special tool or patience to adjust valves down in the recess of the B series head. You need to loosen the bolt, tighten or loosen the screw as necessary while constantly moving the feeler gauge between the cam and the rocker arm while "feeling" the resistance between the feeler guage and the metal. It's basically just putting the correct amount of space between the 2 so it doesn't rattle, or expand and prematurely open the valves. It also needs to be done with the engine cold. That is very important.

Yeah. Just the standard lash adjustment. I've done them before just asking because someone mentioned something special but I can't remember. Thanks man, resume awesomeness.

Well this thing has been on the back burner; cooking but slowly. I received some stuff that ordered from Majestic Honda a the first of last week. It was mainly stuff for the pcv and new valve cover hardware. Also all the hoses on the engine are new. I don't fancy them getting old and leaking any time soon so I replaced them. Here are the pics of said items and them installed.

I also just bought an Ls 5th gear setup for my gsr trans. I'll get some pics of the install of that when it gets here. I've never taken the gear sets apart but since 5th is at the top of the stack it should be pretty easy.

s**t is easy, dont worry. as long as you have a press and the bearing doesnt fight to slide in its slot

Well here's what I did today. I took apart my trans and replaced my 5th gear with an LS one. I also cleaned it up a little and replaced the axle seals. I've never replaced any gears before. I've taken several of them apart but never wanted to actually work on them before.

A little bit of improvisation lol

I want to do this. But it's beyond my ability. Where did you order the gear from?

I got the gears from www.acurapartswarehouse.com
You can save a good bit of money that way. But as far as shimming it out you need to basically have all the shims in stock. a-z, then aa-zz so there's a lot of shims. But that's for the diff alone.

so, the cat was used as a cushion in case the assembly fell, right?
I've taken apart my d series trans a couple of times when I had to replace a bearing. hardest part (aside form getting the snap ring back on when putting case back together) was keeping all the gear assembly in the proper positions ande all together when putting back in the case. that stuff LOVES to shift around on ya. Apparently was a little easier on my brother's 1st gen integra. He replaced the 5th gear with a taller accord 5th. The 1st gen's was built in such a way he could replace the gear while still in the engine bay.

I wouldn't say it's impossible to do it in car on this one, but one mistake and you've crushed your feet or destroyed an entire gear stack lol.

yup, not fun moving that thing around. apparently, the 1st gen had a plate on the end that could be unbolted to access the end of the gear stack, without having to seperate the casing. I was so used to seeing my d series trans, that I was suprised to see how easily he could change his out.

Got a few more things in the mail today since I accidentally ordered Gates hoses for an ITR than a gsr so I ordered some brand new oem ones. I have a couple of other things in the mail also.
