they usally at least try to street tune it which istn any better and will end up with alot of trouble, but if it was no tune at all with upgraded injectors and fuel pump they wont even run or if they do they run horriblely.

the most common ones are ectune or netpune rtp(if that is still used), your ecu just needs chipped. Xenocron or phearable do it for a good price. If this shop is up to snuff with hondas they probably will take your core ecu and sell you a chipped non vtec ecu

^ this ive seen a few shops do it for my buddies theres was always for vtec motors so not sure if they will have a chipped non vtec one, but theres a good chance if they do alot of hondas.

i wasnt. i bought the car about a year and half ago all stock pretty much but it had the d15 in it. the old guy who owned it blew the motor up around 100k and just picked up this fresh jdm d15 from somewhere and had a shop install it. he gave me all the receipts and stuff sp i know its legit. i think he just wanted a motor in his car again prolly didnt care what it was

one day i want to boost the civic
however i wont boost the one i daily now i will buy another one dosent matter much if it has engine problems as long as the body is good. Since the engine will be getting compltly torn down and rebuilt for boost.
everybodys got to have a dream lol. untill then just enjoying doing basically every bolt on and smaller mods possibly to my y8.

its not boost pressure that breaks stuff its hp so keep that in mind. any d16 is capable of 220-250hp max on stock block but me personally i wouldnt go over 220.depending on the size of the turbo you might need more or less the 6 psi to make 200hp, im running a garret super 60 at 7 psi making 166hp 149tq but my tune is real conservative so i dont blow up my stock block. no need for arp studs, fuel pump or fpr with the low goals your aiming for. my motor is completely stock and i dont have any head lift or anything like that. fpr can hold up to 400hp if i remember right and i wouldnt get a fuel pump for anything under 200hp.
