I know what you mean. You always have to allow for extra time when working on your car. Even simple jobs take longer than necessary.

Well after giving up on the amber clock crap, I took it for a drive and it still flutters after the change :/
Thoughts?

Get a water bottle and dump small amounts of water on areas a leak could be. If you see bubbles, you found it.

To find a vacuum leak, spray something like brake cleaner or carb cleaner around parts of the intake manifold and vacuum lines. When the engine sucks in the brake clean or whatever you use,the idle will spike slightly.

I found the leak. It's at the intake mani gasket. I've already tightened the bolts as much as they'll go. It's a thermal gasket so any suggestions?

Sometimes I see people running the normal cardboard gasket along with the thermal gasket to get a better seal.

Also with that gasket installed, the studs aren't long enough to have the nuts completely threaded. So would it be better just to have the regular gasket? Would I be able to take the im off with out having to disconnect anything to cahnge the gasket to save some time? If not I won't have time till Feb to do anything :/
