Anybody running one? Good or Bad? I'm thinking about getting one, cause my lights go bright then dim, bright then dim...I also have a sub in the car

Upgrade your alternator. My buddy had one but i dont think it worked worth a s**t.

A regulator with prevent surges, not drops. Get a capacitor/power cell or upgrade the alt

upgrade your grounds. I am pulling a lot of power in my system and I don't have a cap extra battery or none of that crap and I have zero problems. just look up the power on the us amp md2d and I have no problems

A lot of variables there but upgrading the grounds is important

the above is great advice start cheap and work your way up

start with upgrading your grounds, then a cap then a GOOD quality alternator, so stay away from most everything on ebay

If you're running a system you definitely need a capacitor, it prevents surges and your lights won't dim.

I meant use a capacitor if you're using a system, not just to fix this problem, but yeah.

Bullshit a cap is just a band aid! A cap is a big part of any large sound system. I just put a cap in so a show truck could leave its lights on while at a show. It's essentially a way to add a second smaller battery to balance the wattage from the accessory across both power units. Up the grounds and a capacitor and you're done

capacitors are junk never have I used one or will. a cap actually limits the voltage to the component you are using it for. capacitors were invented so lights would not dim in a sound competition they serve no other purpose. other than hey I have a Sony explode amp and a cap because I did not want my neons dimming out from all 300 watts of raw Chinese power.

what kind of amp are you using on your system? model and all the details please

Oh my hell. Guys, I work in an audio shop, I understand this stuff. If you're limited voltage wise then you need a higher farad. There is no downside to adding more electrical storage

when i had 2 15's and a 2000 watt amp, it would nearly make my car headlights go dark, put a cap on, boom, no more dimming.

I've worked at a full custom shop. I'm not saying I know more then you or you know more then me. You want more electrical storage add another battery.

The only I've ever used a cap is when the customer is to cheap to purchase a 2nd battery.

I attached a couple of pictures taken from my Facebook if a couple systems I've done. They all have had there grounds upgraded to 0gauge wire, high output alternators, and additinial batteries. No band aids
