Shifttronic is amazing. I don't touch the brakes everwinter tires + common sense = good winter driving. awd helps, too.
and by common sense i don't mean driving under the speed limit like a grandma. i mean anticipating deceleration, stops, and turns and adjusting your cornering accordingly.

Back from riding to a meet in GA. Not bad having 90 cars descend onto a single restaurant. Having Tallahassee's fastest car on the drive was kinda fun as well.
