you can do anything with money. but seriously.. It's a Civic, why spend all that money on a Civic.
Plus, that's just ridiculous power for the streets.

I am currently going for a bachelors in industrial engineering, so I'm pretty sure I will eventually have the money to put into it. I plan to do it a little at a time. I know i don't need that kind of power. What I'm really looking at is something in the 500hp range. I am new to working on cars but I have family willing to teach me and help me through the process. But since I am new to the tuning world I have no idea where to start.

Oh and I know it might seem pointless to put that kind of power into a civic but I like how they look tame but have the possibility to be some of the meanest cars on the street

Have you ever driven a 500hp+ car? If not then i would start with something with about half that power and move up from there. You can always turn up the boost ;)

The most powerful thing I have been in was my friends stock2006 mustang. I know that does not compare because of the power to weight ratio but I would like something that could beat that mustang and possibly keep up with a vette

A good k series swap and a turbo can beat a vette...

Holy f*** @ those prices

doesn't anyone know a k20 longblock will eat 450whp for a very long time with a good tune? Not sure about k24s but would venture its the same amount

a k20 on boost yeah....accord/crv k24's on boost...even more and more torque throughout the entire power band.

still looking at nearly the same prices due to the high cost of the massive turbo's out there for K series setups. But a turbo K24 crv longblock would be my choice for boost. Cheap motor and solid.

It would be massive over kill for what you would use it for.

First of all if your going FI you don't need to swap to a K. Just get any B block and sleeve it, save the thousands you would of spent for a swap. Put that money towards real parts like a twin clutch, axles, fuel system, repair cost ect.

first part = hella true

second part, wouldn't be with a accord longblock and rsx base trans. Turbocharging costs would be basically the same for the same output. The money you put towards those "real parts" would be already spent towards swapping the K in. Without the extra upgrades like the few you mentioned and the sleeving (which wouldn't be needed with the K) going with a turbo B makes plenty sense. Otherwise it's just picking your poison. K's are expensive if you make them expensive <--that's why there seems to be a K car everywhere you look now.

I was actually thinking of using a b18b as an alternative. I just can't find as many builds using them

If you're looking for B18B builds that are naturally aspirated, you won't very many. Turbo B18Bs have been done many times.
