well if you are talking 500-1000 then I think that is a good project to start with. You can find some in better condition but its going to cost a bit more but it is worth it sometimes. If everything checks out well and you are all for it, take it. Just don't give up halfway lol, I see that here all the time with the 240z.
This one is going to need floor pans from what I can tell but that's easy. Don't know of any other bad spots on it. There's not many of these for sale around here but all the good drivers are around 7k, others that need work/paint and such are around 3k. This one is great for what I want to do. Hell I might even be able to get it running with the stock engine again.

Take a gun as payment for my 85 CRX roadster that was stolen 2.5yrs ago

or

Now that I found the title, finish the report I tried filing at the time, give up the address to MCSO that one of the brothers left at his job, and/or inform police in their NM town to keep an eye open. Not like it's the first car this kid's stolen

I know where the gun is, and would gladly keep it, but at the same time, it's about principal. The car is s***, and I only wanted $100 for it to begin with.

What gets me the most is I helped them load it on the trailer and then they moved out of my house while I was at work. Didn't even see it coming.
Then add the threats towards my S2000, how he's stolen cars up in TN.
Kid I lived with let this guy even steal his dads 66 Chevelle because insurance would pay more than they could fetch selling on the street.

Thoughts? or keep it, and still go after the guy and his brother?
I'd be destroying those two. That's just me, though.

Altogether, 3.

Kid whose dad had a Chevelle, older thief brother, younger stupid brother.

Kinda leaning towards keep gun, still pursue about the theft. Try to see if I can work his dads Chevelle in there against the one.
Sounds like they deserve it. I vote to destroy them.

Completely about principle, I would take the gun but that can easily be twisted in their favor in court. If you want any advice, I say pursue them and get all three of them. If its one thing that makes me fired up, it is kids stealing cars off the street. I can ramble and rant on about it but you get the picture. File it, and let what happens--happen.

Twisted how?
The one kid left it with my ex, just not as payment for the car.
He only decided that today when he finally realizes that after a year, he ain't getting it back. I don't even have it within 500 miles of me lol

Found out where one brother and another live in NM, and figured out where the thief works/lives in TX, just no home addresses...yet. Can't look up the info on the license plate in a picture without having to buy something and their clerk of court websites aren't like ours so I'd have to call for info.

Yeah, I don't think that would end very well, especially with how FL is right now.

What happens when you get involved with s***ty people.

Figured I'm probably just filing the report, and leaving it at that. If anything comes of it, good, if not, no surprise.

There are many factors that can play a role within the walls of a court room. Him leaving the gun and you keeping it can turn into a argument based on character and what each one says--which would be him saying you took it as payment and you saying no--what you need are grounds to stand on. Don't accept the gun, and don't keep it. Only keep it until you have found out where they are and when it is a sure thing that the file has gone through and that they will get what they deserve. After that turn it in, its of no use to you. Aside from that, you can always just move on and sell it for profit.

He left it with my ex when they were messing around, who then gave it to me to store at home for when he came back to FL which he never did. He's still under the impression that she has it.

Wouldn't be able to sell it as of right now.
Got pulled over a few months back, had the cop run its SN and it came back to the previous owner.
So at the time, he had not transferred it over so I'd have to get a bill of sale from previous owner and all that jazz.

Just one big headache for what it's worth.

Not paying for property is just as bad as stealing, almost one and the same. The fact that he believes that is crucial because he will be looking for it in the wrong place unless you get pointed out.

Selling the gun is as easy as a car. You don't have to get a bill of sale, you can get a lien filled. if it goes through, you are given the right to auction it or keep it yourself. The only way it wont go through is if the previous owner testifies but in order to regain it he would have to pay you what he owes you in storage fees *which you determine based on other factors*

Talked with my dad for an hour.
Ran over businesses, school, etc.
His thoughts are don't even bother with the car at this point. As for the gun, try to get a bill of sale to keep/sell, or just send it to douchebag.

Obviously I'd rather keep it, but deep down I feel like then I'm no better than they are/were...even though he was stupid and left it on his own accord, it's just not as gratifying as going and purchasing my own.

I just recently started listening to this one band and I could listen to this song all day. Look it up when you get the chance. Issues - The Worst of Them (Acoustic)

Worked 4-8 tonight. Working 8-2 tomorrow. Slowly getting more nervous everyday waiting for next Saturday when I move away for the first time in my whole life for school.

:thumbs up: Good for you and I hope you like it. Moving out is a great move towards loads of fun and self responsibility.

If you say so.
It's easier once you relax and talk to someone vs read a few words.
Always  x2 :thumbs up:
