It really is bad. I'm not excusing the Honda "scene" either, though. Down here, it's too many wannabe gang bangers/cholos/theives, people that think their b16 eg6 is the fastest thing on the planet, too much trash talking, animosity etc. I stopped dealing with that years and years ago.. met with a small group of friends when I had the turbo teg, we had a small meet next to a Lowe's/local coffee shop. It was great for months, then all the assholes moved in...
Casual is fun. That's why I want a Harley. I want something comfortable to do rides along PCH. That isn't til much later on, though.

Do it. There's nothing holding you back there. Just gotta go do it!
Completely agree, very unfortunate though because there are still people out the with respect to their Hondas. Lol, those Harley guys ride down PCH, Central, 110, and a couple of other places like 10-15 bikes a group. They are damn loud but its always fun to see enthusiasts gather and have a good time/ride.

I definitely don't wanna be a bearded, leather-bound ape-hanger riding Harley dude . I just want a mid-sied bike (specifically an Iron 883), and I want to cruise with a friend or two every now and again. I was considering building a cafe/bobber style bike, but keeping comfort and class in mind. I just don't have the desire/funds/space right now haha.

I have this thing for expensive hobbies!

Well the simplest thing that makes me happiest I can't have. Soooo...

Well considering oceans cover 60% of the world surface there is always a beach, completely free ;) I know you're a bit far but aren't there any other options? If there aren't, I would have to agree that it must really suck that you can't have something so simple :/ makes me appreciate that I live right by the beach but at the same time it isn't all that great over here because of the litter bugs we have here in Ca

$65 a month for your true passion?! s***!! I wish mine was that cheap!!!!!

I'm sure if you re-arranged some things in your life, you could make it work!
No....not that simple. I don't have my mother and it's not by choice. No changing that one.

:rotflmfao:

Sounds like a pretty good plan, I've seen some pretty nice Café bikes around here and on CL. Finding a deal shouldn't be that hard after getting the appeal and space for it

That much, cannot be changed, and I'm sorry. But you can still find a way to enjoy your passion! Where there's a will, there's a way!

Oh yeah, I come across them often on CL. There's a dude in Rosemead that has a massive amount of property with nothing but oldschool Hondas, Yamahas and Kawasakis. My buddy had a 70-something CB550 rebuilt by him. It's friggin clean.

Lol it looks like its about to sink into the ground. Getting it would all depend on price and your finance. They don't appeal to me anymore but if you are really into it and you are getting a deal, I don't see why not. The fact that you ask implies that you might be having a trouble with it though, so whats up with it lol ?

I've heard of that guy, heard nothing but good things but I have never seen them or his work. Sounds like it's possible for you to get a good deal out of that

I found a Yamaha XS650 in his yard that was complete. He wanted $250 for it. I could have picked it up that day, but I don't have the space for it, and I know it'll just sit. He has a ton of other bikes. When I'm ready, I'll go to him.

:thumbs up: sounds like a good choice. Wonder if that XS650 will still be there..

3-Day Eventing.

These three disciplines over a course of three days. All penalty points in every phase count for your ending score.

Good horse: $4k-$50k (realistically)
Boarding (at my preferred barn): $600-$700 a month (feed incorporated)
Lessons: About $60 a lesson, once a week
Trailer: Mine was $10k
Farrier (horse shoeing): $90-$120 a visit, depending. Every 6-8 weeks
Vet: Depending on what vaccines and such, really could vary. My vaccines would be like $250 or so. (And there's the unexpected vet visits... which could be THOUSANDS) this could be bi-annual or annual. Price varies.
Tack (saddles and equipment): I didn't have the NICEST, popular name brand stuff, but I had (and still have) good stuff. My saddles each were about $1k. My bridles were about $200-$300. With bits ($40-70 a pop. I have about 5), leg wraps (can be cheap), saddle pads, blankets....
Clothes: My breeches (pants) were about $60 a pop. But I have like 10 pairs... My show jacket was about $200, but they can be WAY more expensive. Gloves, shirts....
Helmet: MUST. Mine was the "popular" one at the time. $270
Boots: My favorite show boots were like $300. And those were cheap. My everyday boots were close to $100
Shows: This is where it gets retarded. There's "schooling shows" which are small, shows preferably for practice, young horses or riders, or just schooling a new facility. These would be like $60 for entry (depending on how many classes you took). Bigger facilities are about $100 per entry. The recognized shows would be $200ish - $600ish per entry depending on where and what division.
And other misc stuff. Halters, lead ropes, brushes, shampoo, fly sheets, fly spray (in the summer you go through that like CRAZY)... paying for gas for shows....

I can't even believe my parents paid for this for me for 11 years.... Jesus.

Sorry for the rant. I got bored

Well it's been sitting for 27 years lol. It's a 4 speed with 91k miles. Only thing missing is the fuel tank, it's all original. He's asking 1000 but ill probably start at 500. I'd like to make a fair lady z clone out of it with an rb25det swap.

I know what you mean! I have a family member that is into that and since my family owns some land and they have a couple of horses up there it cuts down on cost. My family member has always wanted to go to shows but doesn't do it because it is ridiculous on price. Not to mention the availability of quality handmade boots and saddles that can be obtained by family friends . Ultimately they prefer staying there than to go to shows because the horses are like family and deserve to be free and running on open land then jumping on command. They talk about it all the time, but it gets to controversial because each side has a good point. I stay out of it lol but when I can provide insight, I do so before they ask me. Otherwise...lol...

Feel free to rant lol

well if you are talking 500-1000 then I think that is a good project to start with. You can find some in better condition but its going to cost a bit more but it is worth it sometimes. If everything checks out well and you are all for it, take it. Just don't give up halfway lol, I see that here all the time with the 240z.
