Steel brake lines came today!

Also got my crank, pistons, bearings and rings from the machine shop this weekend. All I need now is to get the head to Matt so he can do the valve stem seals at work, and just come gaskets.

Bought a headgasket yesterday, and ordered SuperTech valve stem seals just now. All I need is fluids and this thing should be ready to go again.

Awesome!

What was the underlying issue that kept causing spun bearings?

I'm thinking it was a bad rod.. I'm still unsure.
:O

Well I'm sure you plan to check everything extremely carefully upon rebuilding this time, eh?

:
leather has a higher abrasion resistance which is usually why track riders are in all leather instead of textile since you'll be sliding a lot further at the speeds they are at on tracks.

both leather and textile gear can be susceptible to seam failure which will leave you exposed. which is

it really does come down to personal preference. if you're just falling off the bike and not hitting anything both will work and armor will lessen the impact you take. if you're crashing ... you'll be making a horrible pun and probably be in just as much pain in either one.

this link has a nice image showing injury risk zones with some info
Injury risk zones
I know I am late, but I recently got my Motorcycle license and have done a great deal of research and EVERYONE says leather>textile. Basically leather protects you better while skidding on pavement which will most likely happen during a wreck. Theres horror stories about crashes and wearing textile. Also heard something about it getting burned into your skin and having to be picked out in the hospital. If you are worried about it being hot while wearing leather there are leather/textile clothing that has leather in areas that will most likely skid against the ground and they also have leather clothing with vents in them to help with keeping you cool. To me when it comes to protection with riding it is the utmost important. That's just my two cents. Lmao

P.S. Women look sexy in leather! :P

Thank you for that =) I know leather is better, and a leather jacket is my next purchase after boots. I want one SUPER bad.

I just checked out a bike today that I will possibly be buying after the holidays. I loved it and it's my buddy's, and he said he would like for me to have it.

Will it be your first or have you had one before? What is it? The whole "he would like for me to have it" makes it seem like it is free.
