it's getting them off once they corrode that sucks, we use them on a lot at work and are always drilling and using an extractor
Stainless shouldn't be as bad since it won't rust. But I know what you mean. I thought the same about VW, Audi, etc with their torx bolts but they must coat them in something thats pretty resistant to rust.

Nice man, Question about the hardware: You buy this as Kit, Like Subframe kit, or are you just replacing oem bolts with something equal.
Downstar has them and can get whatever you need individually, but also has quite a few kits that cover certain areas, like an engine kit or chassis specific kits. I wasnt sure id like them as much as I do and I originally went with his bolts because I was missing quite a few and it was cheaper than grabbing new oem bolts. From there, it kinda hit like a plague lol.
man, new to the forum. I just purchased a clean 99 hatchback and have been browsing the forums looking for clean builds to learn from, I went through every single page of this thread, almost 300 pages.. I've learned so damn much. I will be taking pride in having a spotless bay, and I need to change my v-tec solenoid as well. I'm a huge audio guy so a big system will be in order for me first but s*** would a k24 be nice for some pep as a nice daily.

Thanks for posting this you've inspired me as well as many others I'm sure to get off their ass and just go f*** with their car, even if it was something as small as cleaning your engine bay.. I'm tuned the hell in for the rest of this build, I can't wait to see this K series in. Top notch parts, hell I'm excited and it's not even my car! Lol post up some updates ASAP man!=)
Thanks man. Glad I can inspire some people. I got inspired by a bunch of the big fancy builds from all over, so im just following suite as well.

Soooooo, i randomly receive a coolant temperature sensor fitting hybrid-racing, delivered last week, that I ordered on June 5th. No big deal really, but kind of annoying since (A) Nothing at that time was in stock anymore with crazy long ETA's (B) The back ordered part was spoken to me about months ago and I chose at that time for it to just be credited to my account since K-Tuned had the fitting I needed in stock. Now I have this useless thing an no credit on my account with hybrid. WTF /rant

Did you call them up? I would think they'd take it back. Probably just a mistake with so many holiday orders going out, seems like you've done plenty of business with them.

No. I'm not calling them over this, especially after the messages I've received from them concerning ktuned parts I've gotten and how it came about. I doubt it's a holiday order issue. They've been up and running at their new location and manufacturing in house since early in the year and attending several car events with products on hand throughout the year. They know my build and they know me by name when I would randomly call, so they know I didnt need this because ktuned stepped in and supplied me with everything that hybrid said was out of stock.

for sure, I may be PM'ing you some Q's about hatches since you must have a lot of knowledge on them by now. lol, none the less, what kind of time table are you thinking for having the motor in?

I don't think I posted these short clips in here. Nothing special or exciting.

This is actually a clip that is poorly exposed and shaky that I just played with to see ifi could clean it up in Sony vegas movie studio

So I have been lurking on your build thread for sometime now….. Firstly, amazing car and amazing swap that you are going to do! That engine looks amazing! Secondly, you have really inspired me! You are very passionate about your car and it has inspired me to be more passionate about my ep3 I recently got. Also, this thread has giving me great parts ideas for my car's engine. Thirdly, I have given you a shout out in my recently started build thread. Just wanted to show my appreciation. =)

Just a little bit. The car can basically be swapped after the holidays, but we'll see where my wallet stands first.

On a semi-other note, I just got back in from Wekfest tx. It was alright. Ran into a few folks from the internet world on here, nwp, k20a.org, and instagram. It was cool meeting everybody! :thumbs up A few K cars there made me want to step my game up. I still need to buy a steering rack and some Monster cable, but now isn't the time to spend on myself.

Yea I met you there. What was your favorite car there?
The one that shocked me the most as an overall car, was Fernando's (the_eg2) blue K ITB'd del sol. One of the few cars that didn't have anything messed up, dirty, missing, strangely wired, chipped, and so on. Others that were nice were the black boosted s2k, the red NSX with the carbon GT wing, and some of the Mayday Garage cars.

A lot of the cars were nice, expensive, rare, and all that....but there was always something very obviously wrong. Some of the high end cars were barely touched, wheels, bbk, drop, car wax lol. To me, that's not really a show car unless it's an exotic or supercar like the Ferrari f430

My friend knows that Fernando dude, and I think he also helps him detail it. It's a pretty sick ride.
