Hey guys Ive got a few random questions bouncing around different areas of a swap that Im hoping people can give clear answers to. Im in the middle of my swap & thought I had everything but don't or have the wrong version or things. Also I still need a couple parts & wanted to make sure I got the 100% correct one to avoid further problems. Ive posted on other forums but not much help & Im running out of time, I don't have a garage so Im at the mercy of weather & only have few days to get certain things done.
My build is 98 civic dx hatch, took out the stock motor for a 2nd gen b16a(obd1) 94 gsr trans, innovative motor mounts, stage 1 cams, clutch, 11.5lb flywheel, skunk2 rad on the way, innovative shift links, ecu jumper, p28 tuned ecu, redoing the entire front brakes & suspension parts( upper control arms, tie rods, lower ball joints)
Heres my questions I need cleared up.
I had been given a gsr t bracket with the trans but Ive researched I need the 99-00 si bracket instead so if that's 100% correct, Ill have to sell or swap mine.
2. What halfshaft do I need, if I need one? I have gsr axels to go with my setup, new from autozone. Im not positive if I need one & when I researched it I got a bit confused with ppl talking about which obo they go with.
3. Will my D series trans/flywheel dust cover fit my gsr trans?
4. I ordered a cheap repair kit from ebay that a buddy of mine recommened because he got one from the same seller with no problems. Not only where small parts missing which yes upsetting but no major hold back, then noticed that I would have to bend in my upper control/camber arms to get them to line back up, Is this normal in reparing or should it slide right in, Ive asked both shops I trust to take my car to & got different opinions from both. Hopefully the lower ball joints will go in, the tie rods don't look like they will be a probem but im lost on what to do about the upper part. I don't want to go cheap so Im open for recommendations.
5. Ive lost a distributor bolt & I cant find any place that will sell just one & I cant find any junk yards that has anything useful. I don't want to buy a new dizzy just for 1 bolt.
6. Ive looked for b series swaps into an ek guides but when I do all I really seem to find is people asking what they need, any links with pics or helpful details would be amazing.
7. I got new trans axel seals but they dont look like the stock ones, I got them from autozone, do you think its safe or is that something I should return & get from acura(since I have a gsr trans)
I don't want to have to go to Honda/acura with a huge parts list & get all these separate items & some I know they wont sell separate or able to order already. Any suggestions for my situation?
