Ek swap random & part fitment questions

Hey guys Ive got a few random questions bouncing around different areas of a swap that Im hoping people can give clear answers to. Im in the middle of my swap & thought I had everything but don't or have the wrong version or things. Also I still need a couple parts & wanted to make sure I got the 100% correct one to avoid further problems. Ive posted on other forums but not much help & Im running out of time, I don't have a garage so Im at the mercy of weather & only have few days to get certain things done.

My build is 98 civic dx hatch, took out the stock motor for a 2nd gen b16a(obd1) 94 gsr trans, innovative motor mounts, stage 1 cams, clutch, 11.5lb flywheel, skunk2 rad on the way, innovative shift links, ecu jumper, p28 tuned ecu, redoing the entire front brakes & suspension parts( upper control arms, tie rods, lower ball joints)
Heres my questions I need cleared up.

I had been given a gsr t bracket with the trans but Ive researched I need the 99-00 si bracket instead so if that's 100% correct, Ill have to sell or swap mine.

2. What halfshaft do I need, if I need one? I have gsr axels to go with my setup, new from autozone. Im not positive if I need one & when I researched it I got a bit confused with ppl talking about which obo they go with.

3. Will my D series trans/flywheel dust cover fit my gsr trans?

4. I ordered a cheap repair kit from ebay that a buddy of mine recommened because he got one from the same seller with no problems. Not only where small parts missing which yes upsetting but no major hold back, then noticed that I would have to bend in my upper control/camber arms to get them to line back up, Is this normal in reparing or should it slide right in, Ive asked both shops I trust to take my car to & got different opinions from both. Hopefully the lower ball joints will go in, the tie rods don't look like they will be a probem but im lost on what to do about the upper part. I don't want to go cheap so Im open for recommendations.

5. Ive lost a distributor bolt & I cant find any place that will sell just one & I cant find any junk yards that has anything useful. I don't want to buy a new dizzy just for 1 bolt.

6. Ive looked for b series swaps into an ek guides but when I do all I really seem to find is people asking what they need, any links with pics or helpful details would be amazing.

7. I got new trans axel seals but they dont look like the stock ones, I got them from autozone, do you think its safe or is that something I should return & get from acura(since I have a gsr trans)
I don't want to have to go to Honda/acura with a huge parts list & get all these separate items & some I know they wont sell separate or able to order already. Any suggestions for my situation?

I. You need a b16 T bracket. The gsr one will bolt up in some holes but not all

2. All b series axles and halfshafts are equal

3. No, get a b series cover

4. I have no idea what repair kit you're talking about

5. Go to a hardware store with one of the bolts, and get yourself one that matches

6. There's a GSR swap guide on here. I used it when doing my B swap

7. B series transmissions are the same, double check that you received the correct parts

The axle seals have tiny size numbering on them (tiny little numbers on the face of the seals). Usually a set of three numbers for outside diameter, inside diameter and thickness, so you can match up the numbers at a bearing supply store, or the seals are not any more expensive from hondaautomotiveparts.com or acuraautomotiveparts.org than they are from autozone or oreily's.

Thanks guys,
Child as for q4. I bought a cheap ebay front end repair kit, & the camber arms don't fit just right & I wanted to make sure slight bending or other mods to a upper camber arm wouldn't effect it but after a little more research I think im just going to order a skunk2. The ones I got from the kit wont line up with the 2 camber arm bolts from inside the fender.

2. Not sure if I follow you correct but as I thought they all were the same, I was afraid that it would be like my T bracket close but slightly wouldn't fit. Other then from online, I cant seem to get straight forward info on some things

5. No local store from home depot-autozone seems to have anything that would match & they all almost refuse to help me, they all say just go to autozone or online. Almost like they will be liable if the bolt doesn't work. I know most b series are the same other then small things like the T brackets so I guess Ill just have to hunt one from a junkyard.
As always thanks Child for the input =)

I ordered the Timken seals from autozone & ive watched people in forums/youtube put them in without problem but Im the type if it isn't exact, I don't feel comfy just going for it. The seals in my gsr trans have a lip that comes out & you can see where once the axels in it would be a good seal but the replacements bought have no lip nor do they even really look like they would work in my opinion.I tried to take pics of the seals in the trans & then got one out to show the difference & to find the numbers on the stock part but I didn't see any & my camera died so after a quick charge I post a pic of the difference.

In both of your opinions would it be easier to go get some parts from Honda/acura vs autozone to avoid problems?

If all else fails, take the bolts you need to your local Fastenal store or go to http://www.fastenal.com/ and find the size/strength you need. Bolts and fasteners is what they specialize in, and if they don't have what you need, they can order it.

As far as the axle seals go, the lip around the outside face of the seal is just a dust/dirt seal, and doesn't serve to keep transmission fluid in the transmission. I think that's what you're referring to. Some cheap aftermarket seals just don't have it.

I'm ALWAYS big on genuine Honda/Acura parts over autozone parts..... they're just better, and fit right the first time. (assuming you buy the right parts)

Thanks a ton killa, Ive never herd of the Fastenal & I went there & im almost positive they've got every bolt I need. I made the mistake of not labeling some bolts or they got mixed up when I soaked them in vinegar, either way they seem to have them all. Mixed up my engine mount bolts ;(

Also your correct on the seals, im the picky kind of guy so im going to try & pick them up at the dealers tomorrow. I called over 32 junkyards to find some parts on my lists & had no luck on anything. Ive learned my lesson with ebay & will never buy on there again! Also when finding out about the dust boot I was told autozone tends to go with the best fitting universal parts because its cheaper on them vs actually replacement parts..

is it safe to put a little bit of grease on them when installing?

Again thanks guys.

Oh I see, they just call it a repair kit, it's just some minor maintenance parts. I would recommend the oem versions of all those pieces. I know the price higher, but when you consider how old most of our civics are and the beating that the factory bushings can hold up to, it's a great value. Not only that, but of course the fit would be perfect. I would NOT bend a suspension component to fit, that can be be dangerous on the road and cause alignment issues.

Also, I wouldn't get an adjustable front camber kit if you don't actually need the adjustability.

And about the halfshaft, yes tthey are all the same for B series, so a 99-00 civic si and 94-01 integras halfshafts are the same.

Thanks, I chose not to & finally got a response from the seller who of course tried to make it out like I ordered the wrong parts but he had them listed wrong & oddly keeps asking for my vin after we both confirmed my make & model to get correct parts. I requested a phone call & refund, Im going to Honda first thing in the morning & seeing what its going to cost to order half a page worth of parts.

Im also going to buy a skunk2 camber arm but Ive herd theres a lot of fakes so Ive been searching for cost effective yet trustworthy sites. Reason im getting it is it will soon be followed by a set up ive been researching & will be ordering hopefully tomorrow or sat depending on the costs of the immediate needed parts from Honda.

Im not sure why some people advertise or try to introduce things like obd into parts that don't really matter, Come to find what I was really trying to find out is how to make sure I get the right halfshaft & not one from an automatic, I found a pic to to for reference so that should all work out smooth.

I tip my hat to you gents
