You could fab parts too ;)
That would require not being lazy, that's a no fly zone for me lol
word. that steering rack, is that manual?
Yeah it's a manual rack. Power steering is being deleted so I wanted a proper rack instead of looping lines.

Mostly OEM Honda stuff for me. About to pull the trigger on paint and dent repair, but it's tough, since that's the single biggest cost for me, aside from an engine swap.

I feel like shooting myself in the face over the indecision going on in my head... "Do I keep it silver? Do I change colors? What color would I change to? Do I really want to change colors or keep it sliver?" over and over and over again.

I can't find any definitive answers by searching, but have you checked into whether your swap will pass emissions testing, legally? If I had decided to buy a 92-95 hatch, it would pass on a dyno with no problem.... but I'll have to use the pesky OBD plug for my 98.

I'm also curious how much access to the ECU Hondata gives you, because I'll need to erase the VIN# off the ECU, because Texas has updated the inspection machines to look for and pull a VIN# from the engine ECU's to make sure someone isn't plugging in one car to pass another.

I don't know about chaging the VIN in kmanager, never looked into it. As far as passing, you can have your engine harness wired up with an OBD connection so that you can plug in like normal. No CEL codes typically means a pass. I don't get the whole VIN issue, because if someone has a failed ECU and purchased a new one even from a dealer, it's not going to come with your original VIN number attatched to it.

I can't speak for Honda/Acura, but at Toyota/Lexus for new or reprogrammed ecu's VIN# gets programmed to the vehicle for anything '04 and newer... throws a trouble code for mismatched vin or no vin and sets the check engine light if it's not set.... '06 and newer gets substantially more complicated.
Suppose I'll check with some Acura tech's down the street.

I'm a state inspector, so passing my own vehicle probably wouldn't be a big deal either way, because my state rep would check with my boss before fining me and I'd have a chance to explain... I'm just curious, because I haven't seen the topic come up (except for California folks) and people always seem to 'know somebody' who will pass their car. State of Texas is starting to clamp down hard on inspectors though..

The vin isn't tied into our old ass civics. No worries man. Kpro can clear CELs anyway.
