I dont mind it, i just doubt i'd be able to get a job doing it. most of my experience is in the admin side of IT. i know some html/css but i don't think i could get too far with that lol
I really doubt I'm some sort of IT superstar by any means, but it's real real easy. I spend half of my day Googling s*** that people ask me and I have no idea about. IT these days is essentially:
75% knowing what words to Google
20% calming people down who are about to commit murder with their keyboard
4.5% searching the web and playing on forums (like me now)
0.5% applying fixes :D

Let's face it, everyone has already had the issue you're trying to fix. Sometimes it's easy common sense stuff, but it's all dumped all over the internet like a weird Japanese... - nevermind.

I like my job, but I feel like a 8yr old could do it at times. Except network / server infrastructure. That's fun, and when you don't feel like doing it, just tell them there is a system update pending that needs the server to reboot and since everyone needs to work, they just tell you don't worry about it.

I love IT...

LOL so true! Admin work isn't much to it, so long as your savvy enough to know how to get around issues/resolve them yourself.
Networking is much more complicated and situation-specific, but it's fun. Aaaand then you run into issues like the one I'm having now: this hard drive is absolutely done, and the dumbasses have been using it for YEARS, not backing anything up. I guess it's my fault for not ensuring there was some backup policy in play, but at the same time, if you KNOW your stuff is important, it needs to be backed up, and you should be addressing that, or informing me as your SysAdmin that you need to have backups done. Nothing of the sort was mentioned to me in the 2 years I've been here. So they can eat s**t.

Yeah google pretty much does our jobs for us, lol. i'd love a coding job if i could find a decent one, im sure they pay a lot better than the peanuts i get doing admin work.
Coding is big money and no life. I have friends that are PERL/C++ coders for big name companies. They rake in six figures, and never do anything because they work so much.

I've got a friend that does MPLS stuff and basically makes the internet work. He makes a ton of money and is always buying toys, but never really seems to have time to enjoy them. Needs to be an even balance.

I just had an engineers drive go down completely, he said he's been getting a weird message on boot. Message said "S.M.A.R.T. Drive test failed" basically, back up your crap and get a new drive. When I asked him how long it's been happening, he said "Maybe 4 or 5 months. I can just hit this and get past it." :wtfsign: I managed to save all of his stuff without any real issue, but he was so happy he got me lunch hahaha.

I don't mind networking at all, it's obviously more work, but it's kinda fun. There are days when I don't feel like looking at people or talking to them, so I'll just sit with a box of cable and redo cables from our switch to the punch panels ;)

Another day of absolute bullshit. Tomorrow should be a s**t show, but a comical one so I might actually might come home in a good mood for once.

Went to start the DA today, annnnnd nothing. Dead pump or dead relay

Seriously considering ripping out the whole bay, buying the odds and ends for my build, putting my engine together and getting the chassis setup for my turbo, lining it all up to be put in, and suddenly becoming bored with it and parting it all out.

My daughter's '95 civic hadn't been started for a week. Turned out to be the plastic thing at the top of the clutch that pushes in the "Ok to start" button. We bypassed the switch and it started right up. $0 fix! :D

plus i was coming from a AMD Radeon HD 6670 1GB, lol

It is Eve. I'm on and off with that game. I get in the mood and can play it for a month straight and then I'm good for a long time heh.

I ordered my last build off Amazon, because it came out a hair cheaper than NewEgg and a fair amount cheaper than the wholesaler in Newark, so Prime got it here in no time flat. I actually ordered it on a Friday (Good Friday?) and got it Easter Sunday. I felt really bad for the mailman, didn't know that was a thing...

You just quit, gave everyone all of your isk for 1 trit? Sorry, I had to... I don't really get a lot of time to play, especially with summer, I like to be outside. The extent of my gaming during the summer is Plants vs Zombies 2 on my tablet while I sit on the deck with my coffee Saturday and Sunday mornings.

I never got into Runescape, I missed all of those good games from years passed :( I like to play games, I just don't know of many good ones, or have the time.
