That's why you squirt the line into an enclosed jar. A gas can would work. While that test would work, the op needs to keep in mind that that's a huge fire hazard.
Update: Wondering what the purpose of the valve cover to frame ground wire? It was really corroded and rusty wires hanging out of it. Replaced it with a new one from oreilly's. Cars been starting up fine, but I'm not gonna rule it out because it hasn't been 2 weeks yet.... Around the time it happens. So what does the valve cover to frame ground wire do? And if it was bad would it make the car start and die?
I wouldn't risk it, then again I wouldn't be in that situation. My maintenance is ALWAYS done when it is due or well before. Always has been with all my vehicles. NEVER been stranded on account of my OWN vehicle and have been driving for ~19 years.....You think I could stretch the belt job for about another 20k? Cause I just don't have the money now.
Won't exactly hinder starting. Its there to provide another ground. You should have at least three ounds around the engine. One off the VC, one off the thermostat housing, and one off the transmission. The one that causes the starting issues is the thermostat ground. Its the ground for the ignition system. If its corroded or broke, it will cause a no start condition.Update: Wondering what the purpose of the valve cover to frame ground wire? It was really corroded and rusty wires hanging out of it.
