We are in 2015. Mid 2000's is not new in any stretch of the word. They are 10 years old already. Purdy truck though. If was recommending, I would say a 2006+ second gen silverados. Better engines, better transmissions and not all the problems of the 2003-2005 models.

I didn't specify earlier when I said that I was saving for a "new" truck, I meant new to me. I can't afford insurance on a legitimately new vehicle.

I may look into the 06's. But man I love this body style.

Man.. So my friends mom breeds shepherds and she runs a strict working dogs program and she has a shepherd that would be a great family dog that she said just won't fit into her program, and he's a purebred, 100% full blooded, champion bloodline german shepherds. Both of his parents were imported from Germany but he was born here. She has paperwork on both the parents, as well as him. He's six months old right now. Up to date on all his shots, etc. We're talking about a 1500-2000 dollar GSD. She's willing to let me get him for 300 bucks.

We've been wanting a GSD for quite some time now, but this isn't the best time financially. She's even willing to take payments though.

Tough decision. May head over there today to see the dog and his parents.

Train it early. My shepherd wasn't trained when she was young so she wasn't very obedient, but she still listened. They are amazing dogs. Excellent family dogs. I miss my shepherd so much. I want another one but my mom doesn't. They're my favorite dogs.

Go Blackhawks, heading out
CEL has been on my dash for months, don't care enough to hook up the reader.

And what's this you have IG and haven't mentioned it nonsense?
I was not happy the minute it popped up.

Duhh I've had one for a while. I posted on the IG thread. @alcrashlyons

Ouch. Manifold flap failure more than likely. Common because of the carbon build up on those. Unfortunately, looking at replacing the whole intake manifold if that's the case.

Is that a generic scan? If so I would get a real VCDS scan done before jumping in. A real VCDS scanner should point right to the problem or at least get closer than a basic P code that is just a base reference.
That's what I read . I'll get that carbon clean done too. I wonder if there's some performance upgrades I can get done while it's apart.....

I just used the scanner from O'Reilly's. "Intake manifold runner position sensor/switch circuit range/performance bank 1".

Gotcha, wasn't aware we had an IG thread
I don't recommend it unless you like 10-11mpg and 80 a week in gas

I agree with these guys, I'd put that money towards moving out before I punched one of her parents in the throat
I'd be more worried about her parents either eating, beating, or selling the dog.

But yes, focus on getting you two out of that situation. Then dogs can come in, there will always be another.

Oh, and s***ty MPG ftw. Go diesel if you do end up getting one.
I'd love to get one of the new ones but now can't make up my mind between Silverado or Sierra.

Diesel is definitely the way to go. My friend makes 500hp and 1000tq while getting 18-20mpg.

Probably did the sketchiest light removal ever with my dad today, he stood on a ledge holding a ladder out as far as he could while I climbed up it 30 feet to remove it for painting in their house.

Then put the e30 on jack stands so I can get it inspected and tires this weekend, time to daily this thing.

The Dakota might be sold tomorrow, trying to push it pretty hard now so I can get Into a car

Friends mom convinced me to take him home just to try it out. He's a cute little guy. Very calm, doesn't make a sound in his crate. We'll see how it goes. My girl has puppy love right now

Drove five hours round trip out to Roanoke Alabama.

Killed almost a case of Yuengling and 3 quarters of a handle of Jack. Still have plenty of drank left for the weekend. It was good to relax for a little and get my mind off of the horrible week I've had.

Have any of you ever used a vehicle transport service or can you recommended any company in particular?

Use them weekly here at work for dealer trades, auction cars, and new cars. I don't know the name of the site but my used car manager should. He is out of town until Tuesday though. Can get you an answer when he gets back if you would like.

I believe it's a site where you put what you have or need picked up and companies bid on the loads. You can then go with the final bid after looking into their rep. Most of the time it seems to be the same company coming to our complex for all 3 of the stores here (Porsche, Audi, and Mercedes).

What are you transporting?

I had my mazda shippied to me from texas. I had great luck with them. But then tried to have my moms jeep shipped by them and they never showed and stopped returning phone calls and emails. Dont think she ever got her deposit back either...
