but yes i would say stick with a b16 or b18c remeber guys this is a girl who bought a SI in oct with a d series and didn't know it till now that she was suposed to have a b16 in her SI

she checked the car on carfax - clean title everything seem good on paper
she buys car, been driving since oct find out in feb she has a d16 in the car not a b16

she is now wanting to do a swap with the money

Timing belt, water pump, belt, axels, tune up, and if it was me new head gasket and piston rings...way over her 3,250.

to do it the right way and have a good shop put it in will be atleast $4000.

a full swap from a 97 gsr is only 3100. comes with everything you mentioned. she doesnt need a shop to put it in cuz she said her father could do it. its still within her budget. i would take the GSR. the only thing that i would bother to replace up front is the timing belt.

who bought the car, you or your dad? if you get a b16a2 complete swap for $2500 who would keep the remaining $750?

you said your dad found a b18...now make sure that's a b18C and not a b18B....coz a b18b's a DOHC with no vtec...just a couple of pointers to put you on the right direction.
