There always seems to be this war between "rice" and "JDM". It's all really meaningless... IMO, rice is really a nonsense word, and anyone should be able to do what they want with their car.

OP, as for your issue, there are unfortunately very few people on Club Civic that know about fiber glassing and custom speaker enclosures. You might get a response in the Interior Forum. Other than that, consider joining a custom audio forum (but of course, don't leave us!).

ok so i couldnt waste a day off so i did a little bit of work, first things first i created a circle cutting jig for my router(100 dollar toy really) using acrylic, really easy to do i just traced the outline of my routers base and made a long shaft that i then measured from the bit and drilled holes i was then ready to cut some circles which is way more fun to do than i thought or it even sounds, then i broke my flush trim bit and had to buy a new one:( once it was replaced everything went smoothly, i then used the rings i cut to dry fit in the areas i thought they would fit and it turns out i have great vision because my devious plans might just come together after a little while it looked like it was going to rain so i packed up the power tools, and played with some cardboard for templates, have a look, tell me what you think..........
these rings are for 8 inch subs i plan on creating a beauty plate splitting it in half and dedicating each side for the 8 inch subs enclosures

this ring is for a 10 inch subwoofer which i plan to wedge between the shelf above the 12 inch enclosure and the bottom of the rear deck

this is the basic idea of how i want the layout of my trunk to look like, the driver side will have a panel as well and i want to create a case along the back side of the trunk tieing in both of the sides

There's really more room than it looks and I'm making piece by piece completely removeable so if I ever have to load anything large I can just remove a single or multiple pieces the whole idea going into my build is to allow for as much versatility as possible and its coming together nicely all that's left is electrical components a little hardware one last piece of mdf panel to cover the spare tire well some acrylic windows trim pieces for the panels vinyl wrapping on the panels and case and some lighting. of course paint on the trim pieces I'm thinking black and grey(my car is black with grey interior) let me know what you guys think I'd love for more feedback

thanks guys, ive been trying to learn as i go with this build creating free form panels from scratch is definitely not easy, ive got some changes to make and i plan on doing them within the next couple of days, so i can button up the panels and get ready for sanding and body filler with the pieces that need it, and oc thats a great question one that i didn't think would be a big problem, because most of the panels are fiberglass , the only extra weight im accounting for is the wood and speaker enclosures with electronics going in after its all said and done,im figuring that i have about 20-30# of wood and will have roughly 100-110# of equipment, the progression of my cars build is going to end in the trunk and then go to suspension, so im not that worried about it right now and if i notice a lot of sag ill take the neccesary measures needed to compensate, im more of an audiophile than a performance junky so thats why my ride is stock outside of the trunk, ive been looking around at different projects and i would like to basically upgrade my dx with ex and si parts, with my own taste of wheel/tires, probably a stock si motor and upgrade mounts, bushings, wiring, and eventually do the interior, with some fresh carpeting maybe fab some floor trays, downgrade to the previous model center console i forget the code for it but its the conversion to the single din cubbyhole behind the cup holders, while im talking about that, how many people are like me and have spilt a drink out of their cup holders while taking a turn or getting on the interstate?

Yeah, I don't think you should have any suspension issues. After all, that's a little less weight than an average person, which can be noticeable, but not huge if you're not big into performance.

And yeah, the stock cup holders are terrible. I've found they're good at holding 12 oz cans of soda, and that's about it.
