Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully it is just loose and doesn't need to be replaced. Currently I'm out of funds for the project. Have to wait for more before I could buy a replacement. Can't wait for school to be over and summer to start so I can start working full time and get cash to put into this again.

perfect. i'll do that.

removed the driver door today, removed the antenna, covered some more previous spoiler holes (on the inside of the trunk) with metal tape so i can bondo over them soon, took off headlights so i can tape off the engine bay better for paint.

ya i know slow day. only had an hour after school before work. and i had to eat as well. hopefully i'll get another day off soon so i can do more.

sanded the rear passenger fender today.

couple of days ago i removed the IACV and blasted the sh** out of it with carb cleaner. i reattached that today.

removed the FITV and blasted that with carb cleaner as well. should dry out and i'll reattach in the next few days.

Those rims look sick, can't wait to see them on the car when it's done. You should have went with a bigger turbo, and external wastegate, and perhaps a better FMIC.. it looks so damn tiny!

i dont even know if i'll get it boosted this summer :( i just want it painted and driving smoothly. ya its all pretty small for now. used parts ftl. but once i get it all figured out i can always replace the parts. i've never done a project before, let alone done a boosted car so simple stuff that i don't care if blow up is fine with me. once i know what i'm doing i can replace it with bigger and better. also, i haven't replaced any of the internals so it can't handle that much yet.

so.. i'm picking up primer and clear and possibly color paint tomorrow. as well as some painting supplies.

i took apart the fast idle thermo valve, cleaned it, reassembled it and tested out if it works. (held a lighter against the plunger for a couple minutes). plunger doesn't move the valve at all... so i'm assuming thats the source of the erratic idle jumping and falling. so now i need to go pick up a new valve.

Thanks guys. It's my first build so cross my fingers I can stay motivated and it doesn't break the bank. Enjoying it so far and learning a lot. I'm hoping to paint it next couple weeks. Just waiting for a driver mirror to arrive, and have to resand the entire car with finer grit, apparently 220 isn't fine enuf

i can't wait either. well i can and i can't. i'm going to miss having a project once i finish so i might just keep working on it every year and make it better and better. one major thing each year. this year - restore, next - turbo, after - ? who knows.

anyway, update! finally gave it a test start.... NO IDLE BOUNCE!! hooray it idles like normal again. found out my buddy used my garage and couldn't push the del sol back in (there is an incline going towards the garage door) so he took it for a rip around the block (with no hood, or doors and the rear lip hanging half on half off). said it felt pretty peppy (no turbo yet just stock).

finished applying bondo to all dents. will sand the bondo tonight as well as the rest of the surface rust. then after that i have to wait for my buddies help before i can start painting, so i will start putting the rest of the interior back together. install stereo, carpet, seats etc.

got two quotes from shops here for a gallon of white primer. one shop said $96.77 the other said $350.55 so i think the second one was on crack.. so next paycheck i'll buy some primer.
