hahaha when i post pics tonight you'll be full chub ;) no homo. haha.

last night i removed power steering belt, mount, and pump. started on the axles (having a hard time getting the lower balljoint to break free). took the bolt out of the rear mount (the one on the fire wall). and thats about it. slightly productive but not too much.

the swap is happening tonight. i got about 5 buddies coming over for a BBQ and beer are we're going at 'er.

well the b18 is in =) sits nice and snug. now axles, shift linkage and oh the painful task of wiring it all together. if i'm super lucky i might be able to have it driving after all this summer. cross my fingers!

hopefully this can help someone help me out.

i tested the spark plug wires and they all carry current so they're ok, with a grounded LED attached to a stick I tested the wires going into the distributor and they have power, so i took the LED and attached it to the distributor where a spark plug wire would go and there wasn't a light coming on. there isn't a spark from the spark plugs at all.

here's a video to help

Thanks for the hint. I'm testing a new dizzy cap tonight and see if that works. if not then i'll borrow the entire thing and try that.

hopefully some stuff gets done this weekend. have tonight off, and a meet sunday, and monday night off too i think. testing new dizzy tonight and checking timing as well. hopefully that fixes the problem.

then just waiting on shift linkage, power steering pump and bracket, and lower ball joints. then i think it's good to go. fluid flush and i'm good. assuming the dizzy fixes the no starting problem

so. borrowed a dizzy last night. turns out it was an obd2 not obd1. so couldn't replace it. so i tried cleaning the original one. got the rotor cleaned and the leads on the cap. still no spark. also the alt is still seized. didn't get much else done. junkyard wants $120 for the full obd1 dizzy. i can't believe it. i even tried used the one from my D (didn't think it'd work) and it didn't. but we have compression, timing is right, there is fuel, there is power to the dizzy, plugs are good. so its gotta be the dizzy. time to find a new one.

why didnt you just buy a B harness? it would have made things much easier. do you think your problem could lay in that ball of wires you got? did you check your local craigslist for a B alt/Disrubtor? i would have them tested before you try and replace them however. i like pictues :D

Maybe I should've mentioned.. the LS was obd1 so I just reused the harness from the del sol
. Worked perfectly. Going on Monday to the junkyard yo grab a distributor and alternator.
