what would be the best setup to beat a stock neon SRT-4 IN ALL AREAS! thats gas mileage, horsepower, 1320, road racing, pretty much anything to do with performance. Here's what i was thinking:

JE pistons 9.0:1 comression
Eagle Connecting rods
crower stage 2 turbo camshaft
custom turbo manifold and downpipe
2.5 inch exhaust
Evo III turbo
97 GSX Injectors
Dropzone coilovers
ST Sway Bars
DC Sports Strut tower bars
A'Pexi S-AFC and manual boost controller


any suggestions to anything different? i'm trying to do this as cheap as humanly possible for the fun of it.

for road racing yuo should stay away from dropzone, get yourself some high quality suspension...
as for power, switch to a bseries and turbo that...

You don't need to match or beat a srt-4 horsepower to beat it in the quarter mile... and you can probably almost handle better than a srt-4 stock, yes I'm serious.

The setup you posted (although I'm not a an of dropzone) will still perform better than a stock srt in all areas. If he's modded though, you're toast.

well, the point of this is to pretty much beat a bone stock SRT-4 for very little. my friend thinks i can't do it with a single cam for under five grand in parts and my single favorite thing to do is prove him wrong. besides, i like being a dipshit sometimes and have everyone make fun of me for doing stuff like this. and if they beat me, then they can take on my GSX. I've already got an insane boost crazy monster, i don't really need another one lol.


and what the f**k is IBTL?

i dont think it can be done with less than 5g...if you wanna beat him in a straight line...get a bottle...

ok, now that was damn funny!!!! i will give you that. and it kind of already happened to me. shot a connecting rod through the block. anyway...
I've already got the turbo, injectors, and S-AFC. i found connecting rods and pistons for 660 total, and thats the bulk of it all really. everything else is like 100-200 dollar parts. and i have no problem using eBay. yeah yeah yeah, cheap parts, but i don't really give a damn, i don't use the turbo kits on there though, i'm customizing the turbo and everything, i don't do that crap.

but i think we strayed away from the topic, lol. any other ideas? what would be a better suspension setup? anything lol, thanks

stock srt-4's are slow. when they start modding is when they get quick.

get some good adjustable struts, should help you a lot with cornering. also a good clutch that can grab with whatever power you are making, and some sticky tires to help with cornering

alright, i think this is a decent setup. obviously the clutch wheels and tires. geting BFG's an ACT clutch if i can find one, i've loved those, if not, then maybe centerforce.

oh, and also, the D16Z6 should bolt to the DX tranny right? that's whats in it now, if not, i'll just buy a trans.


i forgot to mention i'm very new to imports and even newer to Honda's.

i think a good suspension for a reasonable price is the tokico blues. i got the dampers and springs for $350. with the 1.5 inch drop, it lowers my COG but not so low to where i bottom out on a speed buump. for tires, falken azensis, bfg g-force, or agood cheep alternative are the yokohama avs es 100. hope this helps. oh and even upgradeing to a dc2 ( or whatever needed) sway could help considerably.

you'll need to boost the crap out of the z6 to beat a stock srt4, and if the srt4 has the acr package then you'll have some trouble beating it on a road course.

any decent set of springs/shocks will get you better handling, personally i'd go for h&r race springs and tokico or kyb shocks, and you should be able to build a mid 13 second boosted d for less than $3k if you shop around

but the second the srt4 does any mods, you'll be left in the dust.
it's very easy to get the srt4's into the mid 12's.... under factory warranty even

ok a stock d16z6 with boost can easily make enough power to smoke an srt4. the most important thing not to cheap out on in the engine management. you are gonna run a built block d16z6 on SAFC? why not run hondata s100b its only 175 dollars....
