VR6's are slow ;)



To beat a stock SRT4 all you need is to boost your z6. You can run a stock bottom end with like 8-10psi on a very good tune. Get a decent suspension and som sticky tires and you will walk any stock SRT4. Now if it's a modded SRT4 then you better do your homework :lol: them things are quick

ok, last i remember, i said STOCK SRT-4. completely bone stock, nothing else done to it. and if i use the stock bottom end, i don't think it will handle 230 whp which was another goal since an SRT-4 pulls about 230 stock. and i also said it will please myself because i love nothing more than to prove my friend wrong. yes i have seen it done, but if something goes wrong, i don't want the connecting rods going trough the block. besides, in my area, there aren't that many people to tune my car in. closest place to me is Pruven over in connecticut or Turbotrix in New Jersey.

and thanks for the tip on the hondata, appreciate it. just have to find one now.

Man, hp has nothing to do with it. Just because a SRT4 has about 230hp stock doesn't mean you need 230hp on a civic. It's called power to weight ;) You need a light weight civic, a GOOD running z6, a good small turbo and a very good tune. Some wheels and a suspension will help but all you'll need is around 170hp - 200hp depending on what civic you decide to boost.

ummm you sure?? my brother had a stock SRT4 and we raced a 95 civic with a boosted LS making 220whp (watched it do it on the dyno) and we WALKED it horribly a few times...but yea i thought power to weight worked differently too

but yea its gonna take more than 5 gs to make the sohc faster....but not much....all i know is good luck:D

you also didn't read that i want ot beat it in almost EVERYTHING. horsepower, gas mileage, handling, QM. f**k comfort, etc etc, as long as it isn't unbearable. that's the deal. and yeah, close to five grand. IN PARTS. I've got almost everything priced out, it's four grand at the moment, i might cut a thing or two, or get more expensive s**t. i've got a little headroom, but it might be very close, or i might not be able to. all in all, it should be fun. if i don't make it, oh well, i got a decently fast car lol.

oh yeah, i have a 95 civic coupe DX. it does not have the Z6 engine in it, but i'm going to get a used one. I'll probably get a CF hood and trunk, some lighter seats and a thing or two here and there.

no need to waste money on lighter parts....just take them off/out completely...

hell yeah, i prefer cars like a 300ZXTT, or a Supra, s**t like that. but civics are just cheaper and much more fun. i mean, come on, i bought my civic with 120K miles for $600, get 45 MPG, and everything is cheap as balls to do. well, i'll let you al know if i pull this off, most likely will though. should be fun.
