sigh... no one can convince me that the 360 is superior. nope.

my PS3 has wireless all built in... :what:

maybe i'm just... i dunno. i'll spend money on a large expansion - like shivering isles for oblivion - but i don't like nickel and dimeing myself on piddly s**t.

i love being a gamer, i love games, but the direction everything is going is proving to be... not for me. makes me a little sad.

lol

so if i'm reading this correctly...you're reasoning that it's perfectly ok to spend an additional $100 on an xbox periph to achive wireless connectivity... but sony is exercising 'douchebaggery' by upselling the system $100 to have wireless connectivity.

shame on sony.

exactly

microsoft gives you the choice - cost: ~$100 for an add on
sony says upgrade or f**k you - cost: ~$400 for a replacement system

point goes to microsoft as far as i'm concerned

then you'd be missing out on ALLOT with little big planet

looks like LBP will be a waste of money for me then. i'm not into buying little s**t like that... it bugs the hell outta me... though it really depends on how much it is.

I log in every few days and end up spending ~$8 on average

and LBP is all about the little s**t

it's mostly new costumes, themes, and items for world building.... but those are the absolute funnest parts of the game. the single player is a good full day worth of playing, all of the replay value is in character and world building.

i saved too much money on this ps3 to justify buying a higher end model... and trust me, i saved ALLOT
for the amount i saved, i could have bought 3 $100 wireless adapters and still had change left over compared to the $400 model

i assumed that sony was as user friendly as microsoft, unfortunately i was wrong....

no. every f**king game thread turns into 360 vs. ps3, even if expressly asked not to fight about it.

not trying to be an ass but what did you expect? to get a Lambo for the price of a civic? You get what you pay for.

you're not being an ass, just ignorant ;)
i told you what i expected, for the ps3 to be as versatile as the 360... unfortunately i was wrong

and comparing the $350 ps3 to the $400 ps3 isnt exactly a civic to lambo comparison
hell, lena bought the $200 xbox and she was able to upgrade it to have every feature my $400 xbox has
sony is just less consumer friendly and unfortunately it translated into the ps3 being less user friendly

well im just using comparisons. i realize that its not like "lambos and civics" I'm just saying that with the ps3 you get what you pay for. it dont matter though. we all have opinions.

my bad, i thought you said you had to buy your hd

point still stands though, you bought one that was even less expensive comparatively and you can still add every feature you want.
they gave you the option, it's smart
because of the upgradeable features, they were able to offer less expensive core systems so peoples initial out of pocket expenses would be lower... all the while still giving them the option to upgrade when financially convenient.
it's a smart plan which has paid off enormously when you look at the sales figures

your reasoning is borderline asanine.

the fact that you're blaming Sony for your personal decision in purchasing a ps3 that didn't have wireless cabability just highlights your own ignorance.

You were an uneducated consumer, being that you're in the used car business... If a consumer bought a car from you and wanted to return later it because he discovered one of the power locks didn't work, is that your business' fault that consumer bought the car????

lastly...
one would think to reason that since you got a 'killer deal' on the ps3 your currently own, you should have no problems selling it for the same or even more... thus negating your bitching since you can get a wireless compatible ps3 for the same cost it would to get an xbox and make it the same.

and an equally dumb plan by making HD-DVD an add on.
and for that reason, the 360 will be caught and passed before the next gen consoles roll out.

I love my 60GB

Wifi came built in and so did card readers, and of course many argue, "I DIDNT ASK FOR IT" Well im very happy it came with it even though i don't use wifi at all, i like the knowing i have the best connection possible(ethernet), i like having the complete package available. and if i ever take it somewhere or move it around the house it'll come in handy. I love that i only need one device that does everything, instead of having a ton of seperate devices when one can do it all and sometimes even better.

and the hard drive? it's upgradable with a laptop size HDD, where i can find at any electronics store and purchase and replace and i dont lose a single piece of data even if i do get the "coffin" so even if you have a 20GB ps3 you can easily swap the drive and have 200GB's. Unlike the xbox you have to get their own special hard drive.

and the list goes on....

i've spent over 100 dollars on xbox subscription before, no thank you. and no one is forcing you to buy add ons on ps3 either, its an option, the only add on i've bought is my dual shock 3 and bluetooth bluray remote but thats more an accessory.

Im just glad I dont have to buy add-ons to make my system the way I want it. I bought my ps3 knowing that when i pulled it outta the box it would be what i wanted. And if you cant afford to buy what you need because of finances then I guess you shouldnt even be buying a system in the first place

i'm faulting sony for purposely blocking upgrades.
my 360 didnt have wireless either, but due to their superior business model, i was able to upgrade

You were an uneducated consumer, being that you're in the used car business... If a consumer bought a car from you and wanted to return later it because he discovered one of the power locks didn't work, is that your business' fault that consumer bought the car????
i'm stretching to see how this applies to my situation in any way what so ever
a) i'm not trying to return anything
b) nothing is broken
c) i'm not faulting sony for making a wireless ps3, i'm faulting them for making it non-upgradeable

if i bought a new car and was then told i could not ever upgrade something like the stereo or wheels, yes... i might very well raise a ruckus.

lastly...
one would think to reason that since you got a 'killer deal' on the ps3 your currently own, you should have no problems selling it for the same or even more... thus negating your bitching since you can get a wireless compatible ps3 for the same cost it would to get an xbox and make it the same.
you're right, i could go out and spend $400 on a new system, sell my old one for ~$200, and i'd still only be out of pocket $200 to add wireless. but that in itself is the problem i have. sony made a system that cannot be upgraded, only disposed of.

really? you think bluray is going to kill the 360?

bluray itself is failing.. its just failing slower than the hd-dvd
and allot of people are attributing the failure of bluray to the failure of the ps3.

for example
http://en.gamers.com/news/view_3647.html
my favorite quote
Sony may have picked the right HD version, but Blu-ray didn’t pick the right console.
which is sad... because bluray is the ONLY thing the ps3 has going for it
