There was this one guy I know of who left his civic auto with a built GSR turbo & JDM GSR auto tranny... & it was pretty quick.

It would follow same idea as any boosted auto. I bet it was a blast i'm surprized more people don't run autos for bracket with imports esp with highstalls and rebuilds from say level ten.

get highstall Honda autos being quite weak upgrade it score some c16 have fun 8)

The auto JDM B16 & GSR trannys arnt to shabby either... sure the going to need stronger bands & such for high power but their not as weak as most think... & they are close gear as well with 4.40 finals.. Me & a friend was going to do it with his old 95 Auto LS... a Auto GSR setup, stall, & boost of nitrous... but he ended up selling & goin to the reserves & now going to buy a 5spd GSR or H22 teggy

Beat me to it grendel, auto turbo only sucks on some cars. Go to a drag strip and almost evey car running a 10 or better is auto

If you can get your car to shift later. Tweak the ECU or w/e ten an auto would be faster (cept for dropping the clutch and launching) with an auto you cdont lose boost shifting!

there's ALLOT more to it then making it shift later
the automatic's gearing is shitty, coupled with it being weak...

you'd be looking at allot of $$$ to make an auto d faster than it's 5spd counterpart... if it's even possible

The Benz runs an auto because they don't have a manual tranny that can take that much power
(500hp@5000RPM, 590lb.ft@1800-3500RPM). Plus it's not a sports car, nor does it have sporting pretensions. It's an Autobahn crusher/ Limo.

honda auto trannys are pos's if you ever driven an auto trannyin a vette you'd know what a TRUE performance automatic tranny should shift like. fast and solid ! all the fastest muscle drag cars are automatic. as well as imports ( i.e stephen papadakis etcc)

im not a bigg automatic buff but they can be fast if built right.

customer of mine that im recently sponsoring runs an EG. 2100 with driver- bone stock automatic H22 on 10 psi t3t4 auto tranny. and runs an 11.7 ( dimensional1.com) reason he drives an automatic is cuz hes handicap and needs crutches to walk around. he still pulls 1.9 i was baffled by this and asked how. he said he shot a 30 shot right off the line. not that i recommend this. cuz his is a full-drag car. but just stating. its possible for these things to be fast.

To blanetly say its stupid is just wrong On a Honda it might not be worth it for most all but I doesn't mean it is a poor setup at all.
