Im just assuing here. Since you are swapping a d15, it seems to me that you dont care for peak hp, just something to get you around town. Id suggest a t25 or a 14b, they spool so quick that ther is virtually no lag. next obvious things would be hondata, Mx-6 or a ford probe ic are GREAT, some dsm 440's, and a log mani and youll be set.
VAFC should work fine with the t25 though.. I doubt he is going to be trying to push more HP than the turbo will spoil. I agree with everything else..

www.johnnyracecar.com IC's are nice, cheap, and new also.

hondata is great, but its not worth it if you're not pushing over a bar or 300 hp imho.

very true, i just dont like the idea of a HACK job on my car...well atleast not when it concerns my motor. im going to be using uberdata, i have the guy who did hte vtec work for it turn it. only charge 350 for ecu work, turning, dyno runs....all i need to come up with is a p28..... i dont suggest this cuz alot of tuners arent familiar with it. but why not get a fmu? works just as good as the hack, plus you dont need larger injectors or a fuel pump, just an inline high pressure booster.

greddy kit is $1400 and will produce just as much power as your stock bottom end can handle, pick up a dsm or mx6 intercooler and call it done :thumbs up

I plan to pump out 200hp on my d15b it has 130 stock so if I build it up and then boost it I'll be pushing 200 and I hope high 12's to low 13's on the 1/4mile. a friend of mine told me that a 200hp crx will run a high 11 so in my civic I should get what I want.

that might be a stretch without a little more mods than just a turbo... unless you plan to run crazy boost on stock internals

and run slicks....and major weight reduction. your 200whp civic will only run high 13's at best.

one thing to think of (i don't think anybody has really mentioned it yet) is if you peice your own kit together, some parts still need to be fabbed. its great to save money right out, but then you need you need to get the down pipe, bov, oil, some pipe cutting, and other things custom fabbed, and since most people don't own or know how to use a welder, the price can get up there. I'm working on a "kit" for my 99 ex... 14g kit, 310cc's, fmic, intercooler, all for around 2100

dood you dont need to "fab" anything up at all. the pipes dont need to be welded together, connect them with rubber or silicone connectors, dp....bring your car to a capable exhaust shop, theyll do it for under 150. bov, just get a 1g dsm bov onthe pipe...done. oil, thats f**kin easy, tapp your block, tap your pan and run some lines....done.

i never said you have to weld pipes together, i know you can connect them with silicone connectors, but you do have to cut the pipes to the right length and shapes (which means lots of measuring if you're going to do it right). you still need to get the oil pan welded, same with the down pipe and bov. i've never seen anybody just stick a bov on a pipe and it work. usually they have to mount it, right?

get the 1g dsm bov ON THE PIPE!!! it comes on a black bent pipe, you will want to get it. weld your pan?? your gonna weld your hard plastic pan?? as for cutting the pipes, use a f**kin hacksaw and a file to smooth the edges.

why did i say hard plastic :beats self with large hammer: disregard that, thank you. but you still dont need to weld.

Im also planing a d16 turbo setup with the greddy kit to start, im planing to add intercooler and BOV and increase boost to maby 8 psi? (the base for the kit is 6psi right?),what is the "fuel inrichment that the kit comes with capable of? what kind of fuel managment should i upgrade too? do i need bigger injectors then the kit comes with? i would just go with hondata but the problem is that there are no dynos or tuners in my area (upstate NY) so im looking for something preprogramed. i heard that some companys will program chips for u whe u buy them based on the upgrades u have done, is this true? will this work? i realize that it will not be as good as getting it turned yourself, but i am willing to sacrifice some to make things easier for me, im trying to make this a do it yourself thing, but tuning is over my head, am i approaching this all wrong? thx for the advice

what you COULD do is just buy hondata then call aaa to tow your ass down to the shop. or you could get a fmu missing link and inline booster then drive to the shop, install the hondata, tune it, then sell the fmu s**t..
