How many miles?
car or motor?

both are unknown.. my car has been such a long project.. and so much has been changed.. that the actual mileage is kind of irrelevant.. i dont mean that in a cocky way.. its just so far from stock..

Just wondering the mileage on the motor. But that's kinda irrelevant too because I've heard of them breaking at 60k and then there's people who have over 150k on the motor with original belt.

i never changed it.. only had the motor for a couple years..

i guess what i plan to do is just pull it apart and take a look at it.. and go from there.. take it in stride you know.. if the valves are all f**ked up replacing them and the timing belt isnt exactly the end of the world you know.. IF i keep the car.. i also plan to use the time to really work on it and clean up those lose ends..

Get a new y8 head, unless you wanna take advantage of the opportunity to rebuild and machine the head....if its damaged, that is...

i bet you know that i was going to say that this was a bad idea, not to take care of routine repair and service's first right.

But whatever you decide to do, i hope it works out for you, most time i see this happen there is a few valves that need replaced, not normally to much work or parts normally involved, so good luck though.

oops....don't exactly know what to tell you about that one....rebuild it if you think it's worth it then...If it was mine, i'd go that route, just my:twocents:

thats the problem with used motors.. i really had no idea how many miles were on it.. i should have replaced it while it was out of the car, but money was tight at the time...

see i was thinking that...
worst case scenario some bent valves..
WORST case scenario new head..

i really don't believe the bottom end would be f**ked up at all..

i have never seen in my 8 year in the business anyone ever needing something done to the block due to a t-belt snappage, so i would be willing to bet your in good shape there.

I have 205k on my y8 with only 1 timing belt change. I know I'm due at any given moment. I beat the piss out of my baby too.

Sucks to hear oc. I'd say keep it and fix it :D.
