That sucks to hear OC... If anything if you were just cruising low speed, by luck, you'll probably have a few bent valves... Just think of it as an excuse to build the head :what:

I know how you feel though, when I blew the head on my Civic it just sat in the garage for 6+ months......... :(

Believe it or not, engine damage is not a definite outcome when the timing belt breaks. You may have a 50:50 chance of having no damage. With this optimism, slap a new belt on, time it, and then compression test the cylinders. Good luck.

go f**k yourself?

i had just purchased a home... had no transportation to work.. and literally could not wait any longer to get the car running.. some people have an infinite amount of money to do things.. i did not have that luxury.. and while its just another $100 to you.. it was $100 i didnt have..

as far as your pity.. its not needed.. and it was not asked for..

i never changed it.. only had the motor for a couple years..

i guess what i plan to do is just pull it apart and take a look at it.. and go from there.. take it in stride you know.. if the valves are all f**ked up replacing them and the timing belt isnt exactly the end of the world you know.. IF i keep the car.. i also plan to use the time to really work on it and clean up those lose ends..
Ahh you'll end up keeping it. I spent over a year and a lot of money (30% of my yearly income) rebuilding a motor for my car to only have it run for 60 miles (about 2 weeks) and then it blew up. Piston let go of the rod. When i first discovered the problem i said screw it, I'm done.

Gave it about a week to just sit and mellowed out. Realized once you're this far in, you can't really just get out of it.

Hope you keep it man, it's the only VSM coupe i've ever liked.

at this point im pretty sure im keeping it.. with the mentality of getting it running as a back up car.. im already looking at domestic rollers.. i want to finally put together a car thats actually fast...

You are talking engine doom and gloom without really knowing whether there is any engine damage. The fact is that this is not always the outcome of a broken timing belt.
