consol question

can i take taht one out and put this one in without much trouble?

Anyhow ... yes it can be done, yes it is fun to do ... the later prefacelifts are easier to convert than the earlier. As you can see in the bottom picture, I have done the swap.

i am planning to put in a carpc. but i think i will try to fabricate something to hold the touch screen instead of taking the whole dash out.

yeah man. that is why i am thinking to leave teh dash as it is and make a small holder for the touch screen. i will be playing with photoshop and throwing ideas out.

i dunno about 7th gen in 6th... plus the 96-98 iss mechanical and the 99-00 isn;t.
consol swapping is stupid.

actually its the other way around...

96-98 is mechanical with cables and levers that control the heating and ac..

99-00 is electronic..
you cant JUST change the face.. you need a whole new heat/ac system on the car side... its expensive, and a pain in the ass..as ti ALL needs to be changed...

you would need the wiring on bot and the demensions.. to see if it would wire up AND if it would physically fit.. to me a lot fo work for a pretty similar look?
