get a handle and a tap with the thread pitch of the shifter and try to tap it more. Maybe the threads inside just stop. OR drill press it deeper if it doesn't and tap the extra bit you drilled =)

I had to re-tap a beer handle to the thread pitch of my shifter to use it as a knob lol
OOOOHHHHHHH!!!! gotcha. I'm def going to try that. Thanks man!

yea, I don't blame you. They were asking for people to send in some fan pics and I was bored. haha. Plus they are pretty frequent at the meet's I go to, so I talk with them there about it.

Not to my knowledge. It's a pretty solid paint job. I would like it to be black with an EBP chassis, but I can't afford a full respray right now.

Haven't updated in a while due to an increased work schedule and a bunch of s**t happening with the car.

I decided to finally paint my intake manifold black like my valve cover and my intake.

So as I take it off, and being advised that the gasket will be fine because it has never been taken off, the old gasket splits in half. :banghead:

After a day of nothing, I get a new one and put it, and the manifold back on. Tried to turn the car on and, surprise, it didn't. I check my injectors, and i needed a new o-ring on the last one. Went and got another one, and it still wouldn't turn on. Turns out I needed another o-ring for another injector. :banghead:

After the fuel system problem was fixed, and my newly painted parts, were covered in fuel and eating the paint, I try and turn the car on, and, guess what.....still nothing. :banghead:

SO after having it crank and crank and nothing happening, my friend and I run down the list of problems and cross them off one by one. The dizzy was fine, the fuel pump was fine, it had spark because it started only if I gave it gas immediately after starting it. After a full day of nothing accomplished, I took off the manifold again and rechecked the hoses and plugs. After redoing all of them, the car magically starts and I take it on a night test drive, with the hood off so I can check the hoses and stuff quickly if something happens.

Coming home from said test drive, on a local highway, I see a truck with their flashers on, and the driver waving his arms for something. When I turn around, I see a f**kin deer in the middle of the right lane where I am. I turn as quick as I can, but it didn't work. I ran over the deer. Luckily, the only damage is that the right fog bezel popped out, the lip came unbolted and the bumper needs another bolt to the fender. :banghead:

NOW after all this s**t, my throttle cable is loose, my CEL is on. And worse of all, if I'm in 2nd gear and let off the gas, the car buckles back and forth violently. Not sure why. AND on top of that, my driver side window wont go up.

Not sure what to do now. The car is killing me slowly.

However, my new shift knob came in as well as a few more pictures of my car from a while ago.

Car meet

In a local newspaper.

As I said, the car is driving me crazy. I now have to buy a new window regulator/motor and probably a new MAS or something of the like. And I still have to buy a winter car and pay taxes on for my job. Not sure what to do, but thanks for looking.

I was having this same problem before my head gasket woes began. I wish I could help you, because that is really annoying.

I hope to God its not my head gasket. If it is, I'm garaging it and saving up for a damn swap.

windows have issues all the time. even brand new cars go bad

throttle cable you should just have to adjust

get the CEL scanned for free?

the bucking, well not enough description there. all these issues seem pretty small to me

^^This. Bucking/sputtering is usually a fuel delivery or spark timing issue. Since you did disconnect some fuel components, I would get the CEL scanned and go from there.

I will try another time. Not enough time in my schedule anymore with college starting

New shift knob is in

Feels AWESOME!

However, the excitement is short lived, because the car is now at the local Honda dealer getting a handful of things fixed that I just don't have the time to do

Its getting:

-new axle put in
-MAS checked out
-fuel system checked
-throwout bearing fixed
-seatbelt re-tractors fixed

Should be done in a couple of days because of Labor day being Monday. I hope everything gets done and no new problems arise.

Thanks man! I talked with some buddies who work at the Honda dealership and they said that the car is coming along nicely. Gonna be done by next week though.

Is the throw-out bearing the cause of the lurching issue?
Nah. The guy said it was my throttle spring getting stuck.

$1500 for:

-new injectors + seals
-spark plugs + wires
-driver side window motor
-and a couple more things

Worth it?

Ah ok, I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the heads up.

In my opinion, no. I would have done those repairs myself for the cost of parts.

With that being said, you don't have the time to fix it and just need a car to drive. So was it worth it to you to essentially get your car back on the road?

I didn't pay for it. The guy called me and told me the price and what "needs to be done." I told him thanks, but I'm just going to pick the car up later on today.

My buddies have their own shop and I'm just going to go there. They will let me work on the car as well. I do need another car though for winter. But I need another g.
