Keep shooting/practicing.
Maybe just ask friends/parents/etc if you can use them as practice or whatnot.
well my best friend and his g/f were supposed to let me take some shots of them, but they never had time, i think they will now since shes out of school for xmas and dont work, and hes got a 9-5 job now instead of weird hours.

i do have another couples friends that might let me..maybe my bro and his fiancee..hmm i have alot of options lol i will def. bring the cam to his engagement/house warming party and have a go at some indoor stuff.

thanks for the tips/advice everyone!

nice shot Low, what ISO was it? looks alittle grainy, but still a great capture!

good job on the editing.

How'd you go about it..?

For the band promo's - I just started out shooting my ex's brother's band. Spent a lot of time on flickr, looking at other band promo shots, learned about lighting...got some pocket strobes - shot some more bands, went out for a shoot with Keaton Andrew, learned a lot there. Then, took what I learned, shot some friends and a few other bands, they came out pretty good. Now, i'm really trying to get 95% of the shot - In camera. In between shoots, my goal is to try to come up with one photo a day, using my pocket strobes..in order to learn more about lighting, etc. You can't get better at something unless you keep on trying it.

how not slow?
B16s are slow
D series are slow, B series are a different story, specially boosted or with NOS. 1.6-2.2L is not a lot of displacement either, I hate when people say, "Ahh whatever, my 69 Charger(or other Domestic POS') will spank your Honda." Give Honda a 6 litre(or w/e :P) V8 and put it in a sports car, or any car none the less, then you'll see whats up. Import > Domestic in every way.

thanks guys, i left the light and fire alarm up there so it wouldnt just be a plain ass wall

first i copied the cars like below the dumpsters and the poles, then pasted it and made it the top layer. then i cloned out the pole and the left dumpster. then for the right dumpster i copied a section of the wall that was plain then i just moved it down/over and adjusted it to look right and line up. and when you do it like that you dont have to worry about going over the cars because the top layer is over that.

i wish i woulda taken out the house on the top left though..might still do that. i have the PSD saved with all like 12 layers i used lol

This is what I have so far for the reply...
Hello, I'm Alex and I came across your listing on Craigslist earlier today.

I'm experienced with the Windows system, and Photoshop for post-processing of pictures.

I've been a photography nut ever since getting my first camera years ago.
Currently, I'm using a Nikon D50, and have been shooting with it for a little over 2 years.
Previous to the D50, I've shot with various P&S' for another 2 years or so.

I've included a link to some of my previous work - http://www.alexandermaas.com/example/animals-example.htm
...that sound good? should i i say something about 'look foward to hearing back from you' and thats it, or throw my cell up or wat.[

That's 800 while using a flash and 2.8aperture. Night time football games f**king suck because the lighting is so lousy.

Overall, probably about 1-2hrs...took a few breaks to let my eyes rest.

Started with the blue, cloned my way across, erased bits covering the car, lift post, vice, etc.
Followed up with the tan, cloned my way across, erased bits covering the lift post, signs, bell, etc.
Also cloned out the radio, electrical wire/pipe, boxes, part of the tire changer, etc.

Didn't like the look, copy & pasted the horizontal line. Rotate 90 degrees, erased everything but dark line.
Pasted here, pasted another half the distance away on next line. Repeated until blue was brick-like.
Repeated for the tan.
Burned the bricks to tone them down and look a little more fitting, looks like I could've burned/toned down a little more.

Copy & Pasted right half of rear window.
Horizontally rotated + 100px eraser to fade the edges out and hide the shop window coming through car window.

I think that about sums it up.

haha...see, I need to start thinking like that.

When I looked...the way I would ahve gone..was to look for the biggest section I could..copy and past that. Instead of doing individual blocks, like what I think you have done. :thumbs up

Oh, and i'm not sure if I told you guys about this but...i've been taking a personal journey the past couple of days, more so the past few hours...and I think i've figure out who I really am...

a rockstAr...!!!!!!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAH :rolf:
