i got a 5 on the 8th digit. But i dont' know if i have abs. isn't that where it rapidly brakes instead of just locking the brakes? haha. i forgot. what else did you learn about vins?
i got abs...ony my BELLY....nah i do got abs..i couldnt drive a car w/out one

My fifth gen has a 9 in the eighth place. My car has ABS. Easy to tell on the fifth gen. Big pump and controller on the passenger side firewall below the battery. Also you will have rear disc brakes w/ABS. The owners manual for 94 says all EX's come with ABS but that has been disputed amongst coupe owners.
I wish mine had ABS, I am very suprised that Honda didnt make that a standard option on all civic's, I mean really... If chevy can make the standard on cars like the cavalier, Id think Honda can give us a break to...LOL
I'm glad I don't have ABS...my wife's Nissan Xterra has them and I hate it. Besides, my Steel Braided brakelines would be almost useless if I did have the anti-lock.

abs is not a must for winter. in my experience it makes it worse. in my sisters 97 cavi, my moms 02 camry, my 03 dads f150, and some other cars, they all have it and we have slid through stop signs because the abs efs you up. i wasn't even going fast when i tried to stop, and neither was my sister, mom, or anyone else. abs kicks in and your brakes feel like s**t and you don't have much control.dirtyd16 said:
Beelzebubba, i guess it comes down to personal preference, as with anything. i prefer to be in control of the brakes, rather than the abs system. but some people like it, i just can't see how it helps out that much, especially in winter. just about every car i have driven with abs has been worse brake-wise than a non-abs cars.
weve learned all kinds of s**t, like how to tell what plant the car came from, what country it was made in, s**t our teacher can walk up to almost any vin and b like....bmw m3 95 with a manual tranny...or he looked at mine....98 honda...i think civic? and that was just lookin at a plane ol vin i was like wtf?
and yeah i hate abs too, but hsit if it ups the resale value im in hahaha
