It retracts... that's why his other thread shows the photo of the button on the interior.

It's supposed to be on the front corner of the bumper opposite to the driver. This way when you park in tight parking situations, which Japan has a lot of, you can better tell where the far corner of the front of the car is.

You'll notice a lot of semis have a similar piece on either front corner.

I like it. It really is useful, particuarlly to those of us who canot see the hood of the car. Like myself.

it's so you can tell where the far front corner of the car is when you're parking. The 6th gen nose slopes down pretty fast so it can be hard to tell where the bumber ends. I don't know how many times I found the cub with the lip on my old 6th gen by sound.

true that, but i do have big plans in store for this car. i just felt like i needed to start off with some of the things that i might have had another chance to buy... as soon as i can save up some more $$, i'm buying some omni(maybe other) full coilovers and some wheels(might just decide to rock steelies). after that, i'll focus on jdm stuff and the engine. >`

there are 4 small holes surrounding the parking brake. you just pop out one of the covers and it goes right in... here's a pic... a pretty horrible one, but one nonetheless..............

Yeah I have been around cars for a while and I am clueless. Why the hell jdm or usdm would you want a pole sticking out of your bumper, so when you get board and need a quickie you can go sit on it Serious that thing looks retarded. No disrespect to you but you may want to remove that. Just my opinion. Oh yeah back to my question what the hell is it for you can park with out hitting something? Serious if you need one of those you may want to go to DMV and return your drivers license. GL on the removal
