Yeah I have been around cars for a while and I am clueless. Why the hell jdm or usdm would you want a pole sticking out of your bumper, so when you get board and need a quickie you can go sit on it :what: Serious that thing looks retarded. No disrespect to you but you may want to remove that. Just my opinion. Oh yeah back to my question what the hell is it for you can park with out hitting something? Serious if you need one of those you may want to go to DMV and return your drivers license. GL on the removal
You've obviously never driven in Japan before... ass. It's the same reason they have power folding mirrors stock there. Parking spaces are significantly smaller than they are in the US and you have to pull within inches of the car in front of you or your ass will be sticking out and you'll get hit. The roads are much narrower too. Yes of course anyone can park without a bumper pole but it's meant to help you park as precisely as possible. As far as looks its hardly noticeable because you don't drive around with it extended. When its not out you barely see it.

Looks like it's on backwards. My wife has a LHD 00 Fiero and the bumper has an indentation for the pole so it doesn't stick out on a crazy looking angle. Are you sure you installed it correctly? Is the rubber/crome gasket facing the right way?

If I saw your car, I'd expect an old person driving it because usually only old people put those on or big trucks that cant tell where their corners are :what:

I was wondering where you JDM love was ;)
Don't get me wrong, it's a cool item and looks cool at night especially, but the way it was done here is way off imho.

Wrong side, on an angle...and one of if not THE first mod....eh, not feelin that fact. This pole should be one of those "finishing touches."

Would I ever do it to my car? No. I ain't putting a hole in my bumper to ruin the smooth look with no chance of turning back.

My Grandpa had a set of old school curb feelers on his pontiac. They made a hell of a noise when you touched the curb. Sounded like finger nails on a chalk board. Not JDM but did the same thing...oh, and you could mount them on either side.

Yeah I got my pass port revoked over in Japan for stealing chickens, so I didn't have time to drive while over there. Also we are not in Japan parking isn't tight, if you can't park in the USA then you need to walk. The pole is out of place and throws off the lines of the car.

phew... MAJOR hate in this thread lol... i know that it may be a bit crooked, but i installed it the only way that i could possible get it to work. i tried MANY postions, but where it sits now is the only one that actually fit right. and really, it's going to be on the side it's supposed to be when i get a rhd convo.... but until then... KEEP ON HATIN' lol. it doesn't bother me, i take it as constructive criticism.

there are 4 small holes surrounding the parking brake. you just pop out one of the covers and it goes right in... here's a pic... a pretty horrible one, but one nonetheless..............
Dude... clean your car. See that grime on the e-brake handle? Nastiness.

I know what its used for I was being sarcastic, ever hear of it, I don't see the point in having it. If you wouldn't slam your seat all the way to the back and sit hugging the door with one arm on the steering wheel then you would be able to see the distance to the front of your hood. But I guess the gangsta lean is for pimp use driving. :pimp:

i cleaned it after i got the installation done, it's only dirty because all of the crap that was on my hand was transferred to my interior after i got done with some of the other stuff.. it's all taken care of now... wash&wax and whole interior clean. i also put my rear seats back in today.. looks better imo.
