to be perfectly honest i knew about that risk and it was just one i was willing to take, i beleive sometime this week im gonna take the headlight off and the bulb out to inspect it. still 4 months have passed and i have not had problems. i'm not taking it personal, and sorry i didn't address your concerns, but HID's do have a cooler operating temperature then normal bulbs. 55watts produces a hotter temp. than 35 watts which is what HID's run off of. I think the issue with not putting HID bulbs into after market projector lamps was the issue of them not being able to fit not the fact that they would melt, cause out of all of the people i know who have done the same thing i have, have never had a problem with it, myself included.
im just telling you that PERSONALLY ive seen SOME part of the bulb burn a SMALL piece of plastic.. in MY case it had no effect on anything.. but if it COULD do that to my housing.. i dont see why it WONT to yours.. that was really my point.. im glad it has not..yet.. hopefully it wont.. but they DO get hot..

i will agree about the hotness.... i accidently reached for one after my father had taken my car out for a spin for about 30 minutes.... yeh it left a nice imprint, i was so happy i didn't drop it, cause i don't like shelling out 90 bucks for bulbs.

I didn't see oc mention if he liked or disliked it. i will assume he dislikes it for it's probability of melting the housing though.

Just because you managed to do something all by yourself, on however strict of a budget does not mean you need to be given props. Sorry. :what:
well, then i guess the next time your proud of something you did, nobody should care, or atleast give u a pat on the back for trying right? Then again somebody taking the time out to retrofit something isn't worth some type of 'good job,' even if you don't like it, it took time, effort, and skill.

^^^ and that right there should be worth props in itself ^^^

I am not the most mechanically inclined guy but when i finished this project i felt pretty damn good about it, i'm sorry if i can't swap motors, or do all this other stuff i have seen yall do to your cars but hell this is me.

Alot of you have really nice cars on here i won't lie most of these cars are gorgeous, but that is my cup of tea, plain and simple.

You missed what I was trying to say. Doing ANYTHING does not mean you deserve props or will be given props. It's always nice though. Even if it's something small that you did.

I detail. I taught myself. I do a decent job of it. Some people like it, some people ask me for tips and help, some people tell me I'm doing it wrong and should rub my paint with a dry cloth with clods of dirt on it. Sometimes people just won't agree with what you've done whether it's good, bad, right, wrong, or opinion or fact. I'm just saying that. Not hating. ;) You took my message in the wrong context I think.

And don't worry, most of us on here have never swapped motors. I'd venture to say at least half have never changed their own oil.

looks good.. only issue i would see is the side part of the light beam. it seems pretty high. cars in front of you wont have a problem with your lights but anyone on the side will be bothered by them.
