Go-autoworks says their manifold is only ac compatible with 5 bolt style discharge. I had this crazy notion of keeping ac on mine but I currently have a 4bolt setup. Was seeing if yours was 4 bolt and what the exact issues were with that combo.

im not sure why 4 bolt supposedly doesnt fit, but i have seen someone selling a downpipe that was modified by goautoworks to a 4 bolt that was ac compatible but that is what the seller of the downpipe said.

well a little update, today i found out my cat was broken up inside and plugged up causing a huge loss in power and the noises i have been hearing, that is fixed now so time to move on with turbo install. i have ordered a downpipe from greg which should be here by next week, also ordered some new injector seals. last thing i need to do is drop my oil pan and tap for the turbo drain line, but for now i dont want to take it apart as i have not driven it in a month and would like to drive it a little before i tear her down again

well i got my go autoworks downpipe today, im not really sure if im pleased with how it looks or not? maybe its just how its meant to be built for an ac compatible downpipe but the flex section is welded on at a weird angle and the welds are so tiny and dont look all that good. next thing i need to do is pull my oil pan and have the drain fitting welded on then i can bolt everything on and be boosted again

test fit my turbo today, not very happy to say the least. i knew the downpipe would not fit, it hits the ac compressor and the oil pan so i cant get the flange flat against the turbo

not to sure if i will be able to get a pipe on the wastegate its pretty tight

Tell go-autoworks to make you another one

As for the WG, good luck. Either you're flipping it around and snaking the pipe down the compressor side, or relocating it which will probably mess with how it operates in some fashion.

What if you turn the wastegate around to point the other way

i will try to shorten the length of pipe before the bend and see if it will fit then, if not i will try to flip it around but i feel that it will be to close to the head then?

i already wrote them and they said it could be a different turbine houseing because i guess garrett uses like 5 different 5 bolt housings. they are paying shipping and i just have to send in my turbine housing with the downpipe, only thing is they ship through fed ex and i live in a small town with no fedex so the closest fedex is 80 miles. i asked if they pick up at home and all he said was that i would have to give it to a driver

well i sent off my turbine housing with my downpipe the other day. also just received my intercooler piping today, once again i asked for a b20 iat sensor bung to be welded in (which is basically just a nut) and they welded in the d16z6 iat sensor flange so now i have to buy a new iat sensor.

got the intercooler piping test fit, it works out nice even though i had to buy another iat sensor. i have to figure out the catch can because the abs stuff causes it to rub the intercooler piping where i want it to be so i might have to move the abs stuff?

pretty much no room, i might have to flip it around

Looking good so far! I like that you're retaining all of your comfort features. It's more challenging, but will make for a much more enjoyable DD.

Nice Nice. Hopefully that wastegate isn't too high because my cousin had a cast iron manifold on his car with a Tial and it hit the hood a bit.
Had this issue when I switched from a tubular manifold to a cast iron log-style. Had to trim a section of the hood skeleton out to get it to fit, but it did eventually clear it.

That manifold isn't AC compatible, regardless of what they say. The ones that are, have the wastegate bung between the runners for cylinders 1 and 3 (first two cylinders looking at the manifold head-on). It's also clocked at an angle that allows the dump tube to jut down toward the downpipe.
A solution here is having a dump tube made that exits at a 90 degree angle to the left-hand side of the car, then down, and I'd loop it into the downpipe. Closed dump tube = less exhaust smell haha.

so i got the oil pan off and the injectors installed, i remade my injector adapters since last time i just crimped them. i suck at soldering or maybe its just the cheap walmart iron but it works enough to get s**t done.

so i put my oilpan on after installing my drain fitting and i got my downpipe on, left the drain off the turbo and primed the system to get oil flowing. i noticed a knocking noise so i pulled my pan back off and im a dumbass, my locknut on the drain fitting was to long and caused it to hit the rod bolts but thankfully they are harder than my drain so i didnt cause any damage.

took it to the self carwash and used the pressure washer, also welded the nut after i chopped it down to size so it wont back off like my last setup did

yep everythings good to go i got it all done, had a problem at first it wouldnt start. i checked the codes and has one for iat sense i didnt have it plugged in yet and one cel code 15 for ignition source, turned out that the blk/yel wire pulled out of the distributor plug so when i put it back in it fired right up.

here is a video i made of my first test drive, im running my old d16y5 tune on my d16y8 and it runs fine no problems

Great build so far, that bottom end looks really fresh!!! How many miles on the block?

The block has 175,000 miles on it, my d16y5 I had in my coupe looked better than this at 210,000. I got this car at 167,000 but this y8 is pretty fresh

That's impressive, makes me feel a bit more at ease being that I am skeptical about boosting my y8. The previous owner (lady) apparently prolonged her oil changes even though she had it serviced at honda... upon removing the VC one day I was quite surprised at the build up of oil on the non-contact parts of the head. Motor has 135k and been looking at your same go-autowerks parts
